Happy that the main focus isn't the romance but also a little disappointed that it isn't? I think Sorinda and Kearan showed more chemistry and tension in the little snippets that we had of them in the Daughter of the Pirate King and Daughter of the Siren Queen books compared to this book.
Nevertheless, I did enjoy the adventure with this one a lot.

I expected this to be a fun little read but I actually liked it more than I thought I would.
I love the setting. Ever sounds magical and filled with warmth. The characters are a pleasure to meet. I'm more excited now to keep going with the series

Surprisingly, this is the funniest book??? Mal and Mrs. Grady, Laurel and Parker talking about the shoes, BOB - those are just some examples. I actually laughed out loud several times.

A romance novel just needs to be a romance novel. That's what this book is. Simple, no big drama - except for a little childish (?) tantrum near the end which is silly but I think it happens. Feelings are complicated y'all.
Note: Carter Maguire is a distraction even when he's just a side character.
