Synopsis: When fourteen-year-old Selina Kyle, aka the future Catwoman, becomes homeless, she must confront questions of who she is and who she will become.

She rejects human cruelty, but sometimes it seems as though brute force is the only way to "win." And if Selina is to survive on the streets, she must be tough. Can she find her humanity and reconcile toughness with her desire for community ... and love?

Review: Oh my god guys this book was amazing! I loved the artwork and I loved the story. It was the perfect origin story for Catwoman and it wasn’t hard to sympathize with her at all. I really felt for Selina and I loved to see her develop. The character development was very amazing and I loved seeing it animated! The plot is also great, the story is written well, and the world building is fantastic.

However, I do wish that the relationship between Selene and Bruce was more developed as it wasn’t enough of a shock factor. Other than that, that’s my ONLY complaint! I’d read more books in this series by this author!

Verdict: Amazing. I definitely recommend.

Synopsis: Welcome to the Kingdom... where 'Happily Ever After' isn't just a promise, but a rule.

Glimmering like a jewel behind its gateway, The Kingdom is an immersive fantasy theme park where guests soar on virtual dragons, castles loom like giants, and bioengineered species--formerly extinct--roam free.

Ana is one of seven Fantasists, beautiful "princesses" engineered to make dreams come true. When she meets park employee Owen, Ana begins to experience emotions beyond her programming including, for the first time... love.

But the fairytale becomes a nightmare when Ana is accused of murdering Owen, igniting the trial of the century. Through courtroom testimony, interviews, and Ana's memories of Owen, emerges a tale of love, lies, and cruelty--and what it truly means to be human.

Review: Oh. My. God. I have found the westworld like, Disney princess book that I never knew I was pining for all my life. My geeky, Disney, dystopian, horror loving, animatronic hating heart loved this book so much. The story was amazing, if you loved WestWorld you’ll love and need this book! The characters are developed and so life like. The park in the story is so much like the horror Disney stories I love to watch on YouTube. The world is just simply amazing and well detailed to boot!

However, I would like to know more about the outside of the park and how the world looks. Is it the world we live in or a true dystopia as described to the animatronics? I would love to read a continuation of this story and get more backstory, so hopefully one comes. I also didn’t expect this to be a horror story, but it was so so good.

Verdict: I need more.

Book Series: Caraval Book 2

Synopsis: A heart to protect. A debt to repay. A game to win.

After being swept up in the magical world of Caraval, Donatella Dragna has finally escaped her father and saved her sister, Scarlett, from a disastrous arranged marriage. The girls should be celebrating, but Tella isn’t yet free. She made a desperate bargain with a mysterious criminal, and what Tella owes him no one has ever been able to deliver: Caraval Master Legend’s true name.

The only chance of uncovering Legend’s identity is to win Caraval, so Tella throws herself into the legendary competition once more—and into the path of the murderous heir to the throne, a doomed love story, and a web of secrets…including her sister's. Caraval has always demanded bravery, cunning, and sacrifice, but now the game is asking for more. If Tella can’t fulfill her bargain and deliver Legend’s name, she’ll lose everything she cares about—maybe even her life. But if she wins, Legend and Caraval will be destroyed forever...

Welcome, welcome to Caraval . . . the games have only just begun.

Review: Holy moley I loved this book so much! I loved reading Tella’s POV and I do have to say that Stephanie has a knack for writing different voices. You can distinctly “hear” Tella and she sounds so different than Scarlett. The development is great for all of the characters involved and the world building is amazing and so wonderfully detailed. The world is magical and I loved reading about it in this book. The writing is stupendous and Stephanie knows how to sweep people away.

However, I do feel like this book was so different from the first book. It could be its own story. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I expected a lot of the first book to happen, but it was so different. You can definitely tell Stephanie improved her writing from book one to two. The romance was also a bit of a slow burner, but it was amazing and I loved the pacing of it.

Verdict: Fantastical experience!

Synopsis: Welcome, welcome to Finale, the third and final book in Stephanie Garber’s #1 New York Times bestselling Caraval series!

A love worth fighting for. A dream worth dying for. An ending worth waiting for.

It’s been two months since the Fates were freed from a deck of cards, two months since Legend claimed the throne for his own, and two months since Tella discovered the boy she fell in love with doesn’t really exist.

With lives, empires, and hearts hanging in the balance, Tella must decide if she’s going to trust Legend or a former enemy. After uncovering a secret that upends her life, Scarlett will need to do the impossible. And Legend has a choice to make that will forever change and define him.

Caraval is over, but perhaps the greatest game of all has begun. There are no spectators this time: only those who will win, and those who will lose everything.

Welcome, welcome to Finale. All games must come to an end…

Review: I loved this book so much! The duel POV worked so well for this book and you can “hear” Scarlett and Tella’s different voices. The writing was amazing and very distinct. The world building was well done and the detail was fantastic! I absolute loved this book!

However, I think the book was a little confusing and there is a lot going on. Stephanie does well at making the book make sense and going at a fairly even pace, but there is a lot of information that the reader has to digest. Also Stephanie, can we get a next gen Caraval with Tella’s daughter?

Verdict: Remember, it’s only a game.

Synopsis: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is the story of Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted her crushes, but instead wrote each boy a letter about how she felt, sealed it, and hid it in a box under her bed. But one day Lara Jean discovers that somehow her secret box of letters has been mailed, causing all her crushes from her past to confront her about the letters: her first kiss, the boy from summer camp, even her sister's ex-boyfriend, Josh. As she learns to deal with her past loves face to face, Lara Jean discovers that something good may come out of these letters after all.

Review: How adorable is this book?? I felt like the writing was like how you would write in a diary, very personal and very intimate. The book has a clear, distinct voice, and it’s not just a romance book. The book talks about families and sisterhood as well. The book also brought up good points about bullying, stigmatism, and slut shaming.

However, I felt like the book sort of ended abruptly and that it didn’t give the reader a chance to really understand what was going through Lara Jean’s head.

Verdict: I love Lara Jean.

Synopsis: Lara Jean didn’t expect to really fall for Peter.
She and Peter were just pretending. Except suddenly they weren’t. Now Lara Jean is more confused than ever.
When another boy from her past returns to her life, Lara Jean’s feelings for him return too. Can a girl be in love with two boys at once?

In this charming and heartfelt sequel to the New York Timesbestseller To All the Boys I've Loved Before, we see first love through the eyes of the unforgettable Lara Jean. Love is never easy, but maybe that’s part of what makes it so amazing.

Review: Okay so for the most part this book was so good. The writing was just as good as the first one, Lara Jean didn’t change a bit, and the plot was intriguing. I really love how the romance just doesn’t revolve around the main character and her love interest, but that you can see the ripple effects of it throughout the family.

However, my problem is that it felt like Lara Jean didn’t make the right choices and, I would even argue, didn’t really develop well as a character. But I do realize that by my feeling so enraged by a main characters choice in a book, that means the author did something right. She made a relatable character that we either want to love or want to hate.

Verdict: I hate Lara Jean’s choices, but that means this book is very well done.

Synopsis: Lara Jean is having the best senior year.

And there’s still so much to look forward to: a class trip to New York City, prom with her boyfriend Peter, Beach Week after graduation, and her dad’s wedding to Ms. Rothschild. Then she’ll be off to college with Peter, at a school close enough for her to come home and bake chocolate chip cookies on the weekends.

Life couldn’t be more perfect!

At least, that’s what Lara Jean thinks . . . until she gets some unexpected news.

Now the girl who dreads change must rethink all her plans—but when your heart and your head are saying two different things, which one should you listen to?

Review: Oh the final book in a series can be bittersweet, or it can be a relief. Generally, I liked this book. The intimate conversation Lara Jean has with the reader is amazing and the focus on family is great. I loved the character development of Margot and Trina (although it could have been better) and I loved that there was a finality with this book.

However, I did feel like the romance was a bit stretched out and that the overall events of this book could have been solved sooner. I’m also still angry about Lara Jean’s romance choices, but again that’s good character writing.

Verdict: I still don’t like Lara Jean’s romance choices, but she’ll be alright.

Worlds, hearts and desires will collide in this spell-binding sequel to The Guardian’s Heart.

Review: I really enjoyed this book! You get a lot of the backstory about the overall series and there is so so SO much detail in this book. The world building is fantastic and the characters are well detailed. I like how the main character faces her issues and how the dynamic is between her and the love interest.

However, I felt like the plot and pacing were a bit slow. I felt like there was room for the characters as well and I wanted more overall. But there's always more books! Definitely check out this author and her amazing works

Verdict: grab this series!

Synopsis: Zoe Brennan has everything sorted. Finally, she's good friends with the ultra cool Jas and part of her popular group. She even has plans to make new boy, Chad Everett, fall for her. But on one disastrous day at the beach all that changes when she encounters Rion, an extremely annoying alien who informs her they are connected - for life. Bossy and egotistical, he has no hesitation in telling her that exercise, studying and green tea should take precedence over boys, parties and fast food. Like that was ever going to fly. But the trouble really starts when he turns up at East Valley High. Students, teachers and parents alike fall under his spell. Only Zoe knows his secret and even if she told her friends, no one would believe her. What is she going to do about her alien? 'My Alien' is a humorous, yet touching YA book about two beings from different worlds who, despite everything, not only learn about each other but also about themselves

Review: This book is really funny and it’s pretty entertaining. The characters are lovable and the pacing is really fast, so once you’re into the book it goes by very quickly.

However, I did feel that the comments about Harry’s weight was very insensitive and it felt like Zoe was saying that you could only be attracted to people by their looks. This really had a negative impact on me as a reader. The book was also a little too cliché for me.

Verdict: A funny book that might be your type of romance.

Synopsis: Rion has a secret that only Zoe knows. If only she could remember. But he won't tell her because, well…who wants to be with a 4000 year old alien? Even if he does look seventeen. When his totally unsuitable guardian, Archimedes, forces him to return to East Valley High, he can't help but hope the bond between them is still there. Will Zoe learn to like the human he has become? Yet nothing goes the way he hopes, especially when Harry Crosby turns up and starts turning heads. Maybe even Zoe's? And then there's Jas, who makes it clear she still likes Rion and will stop at nothing to convince him they belong together. As if. Rion's heart still belongs to the one person who seems to have forgotten the connection they once shared. High school, relationships, and dealing with embarrassing 'Uncle' Archimedes cause him more problems than working out what's at the bottom of a black hole. Who knew that being human would be so hard?

Review: I felt like while the book still had its witty banter and the characters are still as engaging as they are in the last book. The book is still fast paced, so this will be a quick read!

However, I felt like the comments about appearance were worse in this book. It’s like the majority of the book is focused on it. The book is also predictable.

Verdict: Alien romance!
