ok so for most of the book it was good, spice was great, plot was great. however, the ending was such a stupid plot twist. i wholeheartedly disagree with the concept that we need to start over with another reincarnated lover like dahlia was great and age appropriate at 28. 21 is just stupid

i actually really loved the tropes. trevor may be an idiot but it somehow worked

saw that twist at the end coming from a mile away

the slow burn was soooo slow. i didn't particularly enjoy the third act breakup bc i saw it coming. also i noticed that sometimes the author would refer to persephone as the goddess of spring instead of her name, couldn't really parse a pattern there but it was interesting

i loved the format of the book being through letters, took me a second to understand what was occurring but it was so good. seeing the relationship between red and blue develop and then the ending omg very very very good

edit: i'm trying to think how to classify this book for my tags in terms of the relationship and i think it would be a fxf but could also be a nbxnb bc shapeshifting, need to consult others.

i loved the spice and the little sneak peek for the next book at the end was so good. the political implications of this book are actually ridiculous and i keep forgetting there's an overarching plot.
