Wow. I did not expect this. I understand you can’t be mad with the writer’s decision and I’m not. I just don’t care about this series any more. Thought I’d keep reading but, just like Jimmy, the decision was made in a second. No more. The last murder killed my interest.

Unexpectedly, I think this is my most favourite Polity novel so far. It has an interesting story, a fair amount of mystery, and interesting characters. In the end, it does follow the same formula as all the other Polity books but I didn't find it as frustrating because it wasn't as obvious until maybe the last two or three chapters. The ending was a bit anticlimactic, as usual; all that build up just seems to fizzle away into a mundane resolution.

I found this book frustrating and infuriating.

This was an incredibly satisfying read. Unexpectedly so. A bit slow in the beginning and a bit frustrating because I expected horror. There was some creepiness but in the end it was just a story of an interesting family full of great characters. The middle part was especially great; that one brief moment when everything was OK.

meh

Really weird. A few stories were interesting. A couple really odd. One very off putting. Mixed bag.

A Canticle for Leibowitz

DID NOT FINISH

Meh. Didn't finish.

This was really weird. It was meandering and slow with occasional moments of some action. It got somewhat interesting by the end. I’m still tempted to read the other 2 books!

Re-read: that went a bit better. I enjoyed the book much more.
