I love Ottessa Moshfegh's stories. Everything she writes is so gross and weird and relatable.
This was hard to read at times and there was some repetition but overall it was well-written. Toni Morrison was an amazing writer and I will be reading more of her books in the future.
I enjoyed this but I now realize that I hate taxidermy. I also hated all the characters until it was almost over. I'm glad to finally be done with this book.
This is a good example of why segregation between races or genders never work. And keeping girls from knowing that boys exist, and vice versa? Always an unrealistic and terrible idea. This is my second book by Josh Malerman and at first I was disappointed there were no supernatural elements but that ending made this worth reading.
Junji Ito did a great job of capturing the despair of all the characters in this story. It depresses me that I relate to how disconnected Yozo Oba feels from everyone around him. I can see why some people find this book boring but I like studying people so to me it is an interesting look into how low and pathetic someone can get.
