The first time I read this was in college which was over a decade ago. So, it's very dated with a lot of terms and story arcs that aren't a huge deal nowadays (at least I wouldn't think or hope so). That said it's still cute, it's still a quick read due to the epistolary format and I would likely re-read others by her that I've read before because they're quick they're easy and they're sweet. And sometimes that's exactly what you need.
This was a a cute light and fluffy read which is just what I needed. It's a YA summer romance with all the trappings and tripping ups you'd expect. Elouise (or Elle or Lou) can be a bit much to handle at times but then you she's 16 and that goes with the territory. I wish there were more parts fleshed about, like about Jessa. While I didn't much care for her, she wasn't the stereotypical evil mean girl, which was a bit refreshing. I also love HEA in any form so I was pleased with this. A good cute read would recommend and would re-read.
A cute sweet read. It will make you want cake. Or cupcakes. Or creme brulee. So fair warning.
The parents are beyond tedious to deal with and enraged me so much. I also wanted to know about the grandma and the family dynamics a bit more but that could get fleshed out in others in the series. And the plot twists are fairly easy to suss out. But it was still very enjoyable.
