This is the second "group of friends goes to remote location, one of them dies which means one of them did it BUT WHO" books that this author has written but that's the only type of thriller I like, so I'm about it.
Multiracial trans teen + fake dating + sweet discussion of pronouns/figuring out nonbinary identity + tooth rotting fluff (as we say in fan fiction) = a WINNER
I love everything Nicola Yoon writes, and this is no exception.

What could be better than six interconnected YA stories about Black teens falling in love across NYC during a city-wide black out?
Finished this in 2 days - great premise, well-paced plot, can't wait to read the next one. At times I was like "why would the protagonist ever think this? this is clearly not going to happen," but other than that, I quite enjoyed it.
This book came in handy when I had a four hour drive - it's wholesome, not too complicated, and has just enough emotional depth.
