This could’ve been 100-150 pages shorter. Even with that, it’s a bit…..quiet? It’s a lot of lingering silences as opposed to like clearly laid out reflective  thoughts which is an unusual move in a memoir, even in graphic novel form. It took me a while to get used to that. 

Stellar. I liked to read a few poems a day so I could really savor them. 

I don’t think of fatherhood often as I am 1. Not a man 2. Not a parent 3. Not someone for whom children are coming soon, and even I loved this. I have long been an admirer of Clint Smith but never read any of his books - this will inspire me to devour the rest. 

Check Please + Heated Rivalry fan fic in the best possible way. Can’t wait to read the second!!
