Reread after one year. Felt like I need a few conversation tips. Beautiful how we can always learn more about how to connect with people. This book is full of great advice that I did not grasp as much when I read it for the first time. Now I want to actively try to improve in more of the mentioned areas, and I am looking forward to a long way of challenges and growth ahead :)
Review from 2022 (three stars):
I always used to think I am a good listener and sometimes have very good conversations.
But seems I was wrong, and I got a lot to learn. Sorry to all the people I bored or did not fully appreciate.
Let's hope I get better. This book was a great start.

Read this because Che Guevara is from Argentina and I am starting to read books to prepare myself for my semester there.
Che Guevara uses classist, antisemitic, homophobic, and racist words to describe other people in this book. I wish the book had a CONTENT WARNING!
It is interesting how the times were back then and how Che and his friend saw Latin America. At many instances it is obvious that they are two privileged unreflected white dudes traveling without a clue.
I don't know much more about the revolutionist, but I want to learn more. I hope he learned to be more reflective.

Gebündelte Weisheit in einem Buch. Powerful. So viele mega intelligente Menschen mit sehr guten Texten. Bin begeistert wie vielfältig und gleichzeitig vereint diese Texte waren!
Why Nations Fail: The Origins of Power, Prosperity and Poverty
Daron Acemoğlu, James A. Robinson
This has been on my tbr list for some time and I am glad I finally read it!
The theory for development and prosperity of countries was new to me in this way. I wish we had read this in my introductory politics course in uni instead of mostly Fukuyama!
For someone who does not study international relations, public policy, politics or something like that, the book starts to get repetitive and too much information after the first few chapters. It was great to learn about many case studies, but I honestly could not keep up with the countries and their histories all the time. Potentially good to make the point, but hard for me to stay focused.

Too many stories at once, I will pick this book up again but read very slowly (e.g. one story a week)
Great for everyone from, living in, and visiting the US. Also good to understand how US internal and global dynamics started.
The first time I read about US history and I like how multiple perspectives are taken. Not sure it is unbiased but good for an overview! If biased, then definitely towards a good direction :))

The Misfit Economy: Lessons in Creativity from Pirates, Hackers, Gangsters and Other Informal Entrepreneurs
Kyra Maya Phillips, Alexa Clay
Entrepreneurship means to make your hands dirty - I knew that before, but I didn't know so many other details about it.
This book illustrates the hustle of mostly unknown or unpopular entrepreneurs and how their ideas and actions let them to succeed (or not).
It gives an interesting perspective on the informal sector and how nonconformity is often the engine for innovation.
Definitely an inspiration to start taking every opportunity in life and stand for your dreams rather than waiting for the perfect moment. In order to achieve your (entrepreneurial) dreams, you have to work hard. And it will pay off if you just stick to it and see it as the potential for growth.
The five principles for unleashing your inner misfit (Hustle, Copy, Hack, Provoke, and Pivot) are drivers of innovation and should not only be regarded as bad.
I recommend this book to everyone who thinks about being an entrepreneur and looks for success stories outside of the mainstream as well as inspiration for creating something bigger than themselves.

I did not know how little I knew and how liberating it feels to have a better idea about sexual health, sexual pleasure, and sexual rights.
Sexuality is something deeply human. I really recommend this book to girls and boys and everyone in between! Even though it might feel uncomfortable at times, especially when you come from a background where you don't openly talk about sex like me, it is important we all understand what it is and don't act as if it doesn't exist :)
