I really appreciate where the authors tried to go with this book, but the story moves far too fast and you are given no time to get to know any of the characters. And the overall behavior of the characters makes no sense. <Spoiler> For example, if they needed the main character to keep their school floating, why did most of the characters immediately try to drive him out of the school? You would think they would at least pretend to like him in order to lure him in and make him easier to capture.</Spoiler> It just felt like most of the story was missing and the characters behaviors were weird.
