this book made me experience the full spectrum of human emotion. still sad over some things in it!!! it is a really good book that illustrates how we as humans are so much more than the versions of ourselves that we choose to show and that we all have trauma, we all have good and bad sides, and there are things we all would rather keep hidden.

The Feeling of Falling in Love

Mason Deaver

DID NOT FINISH: 48%

neil is such an annoying character and since hes the main one i simply cant read any more about him. oh my god. i dont know if he gets better and i dont fucking CARE. hes a spoiled, entitled brat who only cares about himself and its really not worth it to finish this book.

the cover really is perfect though; this book is a dumpster fire.

even though this book is for younger readers, it was still pretty engaging for me! it was quite intriguing and i was interested to see how things would end. i thought the sibling relationship was realistic, particularly on daniels side. i could understand his frustration with erica, and i could also understand his heartache when she disappeared because he felt responsible.

i do think the adults were very either end of the spectrum, but as this is for kids it falls in with a lot of middle grade books like that. bloody bones was absolutely Horrible though oh my god...what a terrifying concept for a monster!!!

this book SUCKED you guys dont even know how glad i am to be finished with it. my god.

the characters are underdeveloped and some hinge solely on stereotypes, a couple are barely there (like why were owen and especially ian there so scarcely??? makes no sense!!!) despite the fact that the book focuses on a boy band who are all, seemingly, best friends, and overall none of them are all that likeable. hunter is a self-obsessed boy who seems to think the world revolves around the fact that hes a bottom (did the author think if he didnt mention the fact that hunter is a bottom in every chapter that we'd forget??? made me so mad. shut up about it.), kaivan is okay but has almost no personality, aidan is the stereotypical bitter ex, and ashton is just...there. nothing of note really happens in the book either...? like it doesnt break any ground. doesnt do anything new. doesnt really pose any questions about society. it was all so shallow

this was fun and cute!!! and as far as tropes go it actually did them quite well, finally <3 i dont usually care much abt tropes but its always nice when theyre written well and contribute to the story instead of feeling like something an author is checking off for a marketing purpose

this book just feels underdeveloped and bare. i gained almost nothing from it, because everything is just so shallow :/ we know almost nothing abt the characters aside from their names and faces, so they end up feeling very two-dimensional. theyre also just...nor likable? idk, maybe its bc their characterizations are so lacking but the only character i really care abt is doodle. the other two characters are fine, but we know so little about them

also why did the characters act like being 18 is so old??? the characters themselves are 17 and the 18 year olds were like 'im too old for you omg im ancient </3' like. was that supposed to be a joke or something bc it was so weird. 17 and 18 year olds can literally be born a day apart. what on earth
