funny informative lighthearted reflective medium-paced

This book really lives up to its title. It is quick and easy to understand and covers all bases and questions people might have. I think it would be a very helpful book to have in high schools and on college campuses. I think the art is really cute, but I hope it's in color for the final print. I also really love the personification of the consent teacher "Sarge". It's very humorous without taking away from the seriousness of the topic. I also 100% love and appreciate how inclusive it is.

Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

First the negatives: the cast of characters was too large for me to keep up with, I kept getting confused; there are a lot of references to the movie it's based on, and I am not heavily involved with it, so it felt like I was missing some things.

The positives: the art is very cute; I do enjoy the characters even if I have trouble keeping up; the pacing and suspense is wonderful; it picks up speed at the end with a huge cliffhanger so I'm interested in reading the rest of the run.

Dodie doesn't write stories, she paints them. This story (and the artwork inside) was beautiful and incredibly inspiring. Reading this made me delete my thinspo pinterest board after having it for 5 years. It is a must-read for mentally ill girls.
