The writing in this was spot on, I just had no idea what I was getting into. Personally, a little too graphic for me-but the character arc and voice were very well done.

My only real issue is the possibility of romanticizing mobsters and such. I honestly don't know how I feel about that, but it felt really wrong reading it.

Just my honest feelings!

I jumped on the opportunity to read this, the moment I read the synopsis. And it was an ebook-I RARELY ever review ebooks. This one just made the cut.

Oh did it EVER make the cut.

I loved every single word in the book. So much fun! Keating has such a catchy and enjoyable writing style. I felt like I was watching a movie rather than reading a book. The characters are well flushed out and just the cutest things ever!

And Oliver...I seriously want him as a friend. He's just the best.

So yeah, just read the darn book. It's light, fun, and well worth the read.

Murder Mezzo Forte by Donn E. Taylor

After reading some other reviews, I can see many people didn't like the main character, due to his quirky ability to hear concertos in his head. I actually like this detail. It makes him a highly unique character-and a memorable one at that. If you don't know the music he's describing, I would suggest YouTube. It really brings the story to life!

Murder Mezzo Forte has a pretty great pace with not many pages lagging in action, or feeling like fillers. I enjoy Taylor's writing style, and I'm interested in checking out his other books (which the covers suggest to have a military theme) like The Lazarus File or Deadly Additive. I think all of Donn Taylor's works would be great gifts for the special guys in your life too!
