This didn’t really grab me and took me forever to finish. Nothing exactly wrong with it, might be more suited to someone who is really into small town as a trope, but not much plot and I didn’t find the characters especially compelling.

I genuinely don’t know if it was the narration— which I thought was good, but could have contributed— or my mood, but this one read sort of dry to me. I think because it’s a novella and a lot of their courtship happens in letters that we don’t get to read, I wasn’t really invested in the romance. Also this might read better to someone who is super into Hamilton? It immediately made me think of it, but I didn’t even catch that the title was a reference. I do know it renewed my annoyance in the epilogue of the musical where all of Eliza Hamilton’s accomplishments during her entire life post-AH’s death were chalked up to being in his honor.
This was really good, I loved Will and Annabel and everything about it was solid. I have no complaints, it just wasn’t a five star read for me. I am super excited to learn more about Strathaven though!!
