Amazing coming of age story, of a young man finding himself and discovering his sexuality, of reckoning with classism and racism and capitalism, with finding his voice. And, despite all of the brouhaha, not at all pedophilic. Two kids exploring their sexuality is not inherently pedophilic.

Whoa. This was a phenomenal end to a phenomenal series. The characterizations, the depth, and the breadth were amazing.

I've really been enjoying my dive into Pratchett, but this is definitely one of my favorites so far. A story about storytelling, and about the power of stories. Plus, Granny is in it, of course.

I loved this journey. I laughed a lot - Buffett is a fantastic writer. I enjoyed his philosophy on life, his take on politics, and his beautiful writing about the many places he's seen, the way he writes from his heart. I can't believe it has taken me this long to read it, but I can say with certainty, it will be re-read.

I did not love this book. I found the narrator obnoxiously mansplainy. I found the obsession to detail surrounding naming/describing fish frightfully dull. Things that I was actually interested in were glossed over or skipped. The only thing I can say I really liked was that Nemo was anti-whaling. So there's that.

This exploration of religion and belief and the indomitable human spirit, while also being hilarious, is absolutely worth a read.

Phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal. The cast of characters is amazing. The story of a teen Black boy grappling with the feelings of grief and humanity and vulnerability is SO needed. The metaphors that Mbalia utilizes to create a world where a young Black boy can encounter remnants of slavery and fight back, can reclaim and rewrite some of those stories, was so well done and so needed. Just...amazing. I'm still reeling in the best ways.

This was a delightful light-hearted read. I enjoyed a new spin on the Fowl family, and I loved how it encapsulated some great pieces of the Artemis Fowl saga while also being its own thing completely. There were many a moment that I laughed out loud.
