Interesting concept and it was a good read. It was a good exploration of how a single decision can have a ripple effect, and the complexity of human emotion. 

Wow. This was a wild read. My first King from start to finish. And such a cool exploration of story and trope and, yes, fairytales. Though sometimes gorier than my typical tastes. 

This was an excellent sequel to the first book. It was also a bit gorier and more violent, which was hard for me at times, but it was well-done and well-executed. There were times when the shifting perspectives were harder for me to track, or that it was like I couldn't remember what had happened from one POV to the next time that POV came up, but those were mostly mild challenges. The story was gripping and intense. And I love, love, love the casual LGBTQ representation in this story, including a poly relationship and a nonbinary character, neither of which is made a "big deal." It just is part of the story, which was excellent. 

Wow wow wow. I really loved this book. I loved the creation of a mythic island where colonialization did not touch, and the reckoning with realities in our society. I loved the electric mix of cultures. I loved the teenagers learning who they are and coming into themselves. I loved how love and loss and hope and betrayal are handled. Beautiful book. 

This is a good basic primer, but it is dated, which happens fast in the mental health world. While it has some good basics in it, this book could benefit from a refresh.
