I wanted so much to like this one that I've read it and reread it. This was genuinely good but I just can't fully connect with it.

In my mind, I was like 'it would've been so epic if HE was the murderer' and turns out HE WAS!!!

had such a huge expectation but it was just... okay. the plot was great but i really struggled with the writing.. and maybe the characters. most of the time, i just could not care any less. some parts are still good tho

I had such high expectations for this book, and it exceeded them. I love and adore this. It just felt like a warm hug. Anne's journey is something we can all relate to. It actually made me a little sad to read about a child growing up and becoming a teenager, especially the changes. It is relatable, but reading or seeing it from another perspective was different. Throughout the book, I felt like a mother not wanting her child to grow up too fast.

 

for some reasons, i feel very detached to the characters. like i don't really care about anyone except giovanni. maybe i'm not in the mood for this? the writing is good but i can't really appreciate it because of this detachment. i will try this again in the future tho.

dnf time war? on pride month???

i know 😩 but i think the writing is not really for me. don't get me wrong, it is beautiful. maybe because it's my first time reading a book that has this kind of writing in a science fiction (tho i don't read sci fi that much). when i think of science fiction, i always expect that the writing would be straightforward. i will try this again in the future tho!!
