Lou and Al ❤️ Lou, a hardworking chef and restaurant owner is facing the shock of her boyfriend, Devlin, cheating on her when Al, a food critic, finally tries Luella’s. Al writes a terrible review of the restaurant that affects restaurant-goers to the point that Lou thinks she’ll have to close her restaurant. Little to their knowledge, Lou and Al had a previous encounter where Al caught the scent of the coconut cake Lou had baked. Lou and Al later tour Milwaukee to give Al a sense of what the city is known for - food! The two friends fall for one another but are at a crossroads when Al, being a typical guy, closes off. Lou finds out Al was the critic who wrote the terrible review of her beloved restaurant.

This was our bookclub pick for the month and it was so good!!! Lisa Jewell is easily one of my favorite authors, especially for mystery/thrillers!
I Found You follows the story of Mark Tate, Kirsty & Graham (Gray) Ross who meet one another in the summer of 1993. Mark (19) falls in love with Kirsty (15) and when she doesn’t reciprocate, Mark snaps. After a traumatic experience, all 3 are lost, 2 presumed as dead and 1 that can’t remember the tragic events of one fatal night. Fast forward 23 years later, a man goes missing and another man is found with severe amnesia. Lily, married to Carl, is determined to find out where her missing husband went, dead or alive, and learns that Carl Montrose does not exist, so who is he? Alice welcomes John Doe (she & her kids nickname him “Frank”) into her home & helps him to remember who he is & where he’s from. Piece by piece “Frank” gets his memory back & crosses paths with Lily who’s on the hunt to find out who she’s really married to. Through his memories & Lily’s detecting, they locate Kitty who comes clean about the fatal night in 1993.
Though the book flips back and forth between the different character perspectives and the two timelines, this book is an easy and quick read! I never found myself getting lost or confused. I had my predictions & was right about most of them! I definitely enjoyed this book & recommend it to anyone looking for a good thriller!

This was my first book my Elle Kennedy & I loved it!! Gen & Evan were so feisty & full of fire (okay desire) I loved that both characters “grew up” & still found their way to one another. Second chance love is not always my favorite trope but it worked in this book! I definitely need to read Good Girl Complex to dive deeper into Coop & Mac!

I received this eARC via Netgalley. This book is 688 pages long and I only made it to 297 in 20 days. It’s very slow and has information/situations not really relevant to the main story. It takes awhile to get to the fun banter between Lucy and Zack. I hope to finish or re-read at some point but unfortunately I gravitated towards other books instead of finishing this one in the time limit Netgalley provides. I had high hopes for this one by reading the description but I feel as it has fallen short.
