I was not sure what to expect when I started reading A Perfect Moment, but from the minute I started, I was intrigued and hooked.
We all have that one friend sometime in our lives where our feelings cross from friendship to love, more often than not unrequited. And this is a story where friends take that step and try for something more.
Ella was screwed over by her fianc` on what was supposed to be her “perfect moment”, her wedding day. 5 years down the track and she is still gunshy when it comes to love and relationships.
Preston is her best friend Jo’s “baby” brother. Smokin’ hot surfer and fireman.
I just love love love Preston! Having been harbouring his feelings for so long, he sees his chance to take things to the next step and goes for it, balls to the wall, take no prisoners. Loved that he would not take no for an answer. Sweet, sexy, funny. There were some great LOL moments, particularly when it came to the MC’s inner monologues.
Oh, and there might be some of this along the way too.....
“I tried not to give away a facial tell when I realised that in my epiphany of ‘Win El Over’, I had grown a f*&king vagina. Immediately Chesney Hawkes ‘The One and Only’ played out in my head. Definitely a vagina moment” - Preston
I could understand El’s reluctance to get involved with Preston, but I wanted to shake some sense into her, tell her to pull her head out of her butt and get on with life!
There are some fantastic secondary characters, especially Jo and Jackson. Jo is the best friend every girl wants…hell, every girl needs! Bold and brassy, says what’s on her mind, takes not crap from anybody.
There is also a bit of mystery/suspense thrown into the story, and though it is not hard to figure out who the perpetrator is, the why and what for was harder to get.
This is Ms Lee’s debut novel, and she certainly did not disappoint me. I look forward to reading more of her work in the future!

When the author asked if I was interested in reading Perfect Imperfections, I read the synopsis and jumped at the chance. M/M and rock stars - two of my favourites at the moment - yes please!
Jeremy is Hollywood royalty, and as such is forever in the spotlight, whether it be for his career or his dating history.
Reg is a bartender at a dive bar in no place special. The one night, a rock star walks into the bar... and the rest is history.
I am a bit over the "gay for you" which is how Perfect Imperfections kind of started out, but there was always that undercurrent with Jeremy that there was more than meets the eye, and as the story progressed we saw more of it.
For a rock star, Jeremy felt pretty tame and innocent for a rock star. It was actually quite sweet, I don't know about you but I get a bit sick of the "he's a rock star-man whore-must always have dick in a chick" categorisation. This was a nice change.
I loved watching the "faux-lationship" between Reg and Jeremy grow. I went from acquaintances to friendship to confusion to more as the story progressed.
Loved how Reg was with Jeremy. Yes at first he was there to see the world while acting as Jeremy's "pretend" boyfriend, but there was always something more between them.
Do Reg and Jeremy get the HEA? Will Jeremy succumb to the pressures of Hollywood and keep his feelings and relationships a secret/
Nope, for that you are going to have to read for yourself.
This is the first of Cardeno C's books that I have read, but I have already added a few more to my TBR list and to my Kindle.

If you have read any or my reviews lately, you would know that I am a fan of a m/m romance. And a m/m romance that involves a rock start? Colour me pink, I am gonna read it.
Sawyer and Jake have been best friends for years. When Jake’s parents move overseas, saying goodbye is never going to be easy. But never did Sawyer see that goodbye ending with a kiss, an argument and then estrangement.
10 years down the track and Jake is back, and he wants Sawyer.
It took me a little while to get into the Jake and Sawyer thing. Jake was a bit full on after they have been estranged for so long, ( I could understand the full on behaviour if they had been apart for a year, but the decade made it a bit too much?) but eventually he didn’t seem quite as stalkerish.
Sawyer has kept his true feelings so well hidden for so long. He is so far in the closet that you need a packed lunch and a miner’s lamp to find him! But once the true feelings come to the forefront, boy do things start to heat up between the pair.
I could understand why Sawyer hid his sexuality – hell as the world’s hottest rock star, renowned womaniser, coming out can spell the end. I loved how Jake pushed him (though at times I felt he was a bit over the top) to come to terms within himself as to who he really was.
There are some great secondary characters in Being Sawyer Knight. Love Love LOVE Sawyer’s best friend Elle. She is the rock that he needs, the one who keeps him grounded. She is also the one who he turns to when things turn pear shaped in his life. And she takes none of his crap! There are also his band mates, who are fun and funny.
There is also a bit of a mystery running in the background. And while I had pretty much figured out who was behind things, it was a wonder to see how far people would go to get what they want.
Overall Being Sawyer Knight was an enjoyable read. It was the first of Ms Haken’s work that I hav e read but I will read more.

After reading teasers pop up on Facebook, I was very keen to read Velvet Reed's debut novel, The Rhythm of My Heart, so given the opportunity to join the blog tour, I jumped at the chance.
And I was not disappointed
Rhythm of My Heart gives us a sassy, smart, loving woman in Grace. Giving up her career to help her family was never a hard decision, but she feels she is missing something.
I love Grace and her family. Her brother Charlie, her dad Bryan and of course her niece Ruby. Ruby, in my opinion, is the scene stealer in this book. Who could resist that sweet little girl?
Then there is Cole.... or as I call him
He is just divine! We all need a Dr sexy in our lives I tell ya! After being hurt in his past, he has been careful about giving his heart away, but who could resist Grace. He was just sweet, caring, thoughtful.
There are some great secondary characters too. I love the banter, snarky remarks, heat between Grace's best friend Ash and Cole's best friend Sam. You just know from the second they are in the room together that there is going to be fireworks... whether they are good fireworks or bad fireworks though is the question. Their relationship of sorts is pretty volatile.... and I love it!!
There are some other people though that just UGH... don't get me started on them - especially Miranda!! I still don't know whether I want to bitch slap her or kick her arse!!
All in all Ms Reed has given us a story that drew me in and kept me interested from beginning to end If I has not been told that this was her debut novel, you wouldn't know. She has spent the time in development and editing (which we all know can be lacking in the indie world at times, admit it we have all read some shockers when it comes to editing!!) and it shows.
But then we get an OMG ending, and now have to wait to find out what happens (September 2014 hopefully!!)
I am very much looking forward to reading the next in the Matters Of The Heart series (Saving our Hearts)

An Exceptional Twist starts off where It All Started with A Lima Bean ends, so you should read it first ~~ It could be read as a stand alone though if you wanted.
Stefen and Leah first met at his cousin's engagement party to her best friend, Caleb and Abby.
There is the instant attraction, but both have been warned off the other by their well meaning family and friends. Stefen is a player, and Leah deserves better than that.
But the heart wants what the heart wants ~ and these two want each other.
There is so much more to Stefen than the playboy image he puts out there. He is a commitment-phobe. He doesn't believe in marriage, he is never with the same girl more than a couple of times. But beneath it all, he is jealous of what his cousin has found, and harbours that want ~ sure, it is deep, deep down, but he wants that too.
Leah has spent her life building up her successful business with not time for relationships. She is the complete opposite of Abby. Where Abby is quiet and thoughtful, Leah is loud and outspoken. She is a spitfire. She also wants what Caleb and Abby has, but hasn't found it yet.
Where Caleb and Abby's romance was sweet, Stefen and Leah is fiery, animalistic. What starts out as pure lust soon turns to need and much much more
Of course the road to love is never an easy one, and this has never been more true than with Stefen and Leah. Their story is an emotional rollercoaster.
After that step is taken, things take a turn, and Stefen and Leah are thrown together more than they expect or want. A wonderful friendship grows from this time together, but can they have more?
It is a tale of love and hate, betrayal, need, sadness and happiness, forgiveness. And as the title alludes to, there is a twist in the tale!
I wanted to love Stefen, I wanted to hate him. He does some pretty deplorable things, but I couldn't hate him!
Leah's family are fantastic. Her sister Dani is hilarious at times, but we learn a little more about her that makes your heart ache for her. I hope we get more of her story soon.
We get more of Caleb, Abby and Maddy, starting off on their new life together..
Leah's mum plays a big part in Leah's story, and there are some funny interactions between her and Stefen. The telenovellas scene made me laugh!!
"Your mom so watches porn" hahahaha!!!
This series is pure romance. No panty-ripping sex every second page. I feel that this gives us a different, deeper connection with Stefen and Leah.
Ms Flores had me when she wrote It All Started with A Lima Bean, but she has excelled herself with An Exceptional Twist. The character development feels natural, nothing happens at warp speed/insta-love like with so many books we read these days.
I look forward to more of this series!

I have been a fan of Holly S Robert's Completion series since I first got my hands on the first book, Play, so signing up for the Kick blog tour was a no brainer.
And then finding out that Kick was about rugby - happy dance! I am a rugby girl through and through (go the Tahs!!) and in my opinion there are not enough books with it as it's setting!!
Cami gets her big break at the newspaper she works for when she is sent to report on The Slam, a rugby team in Colt, Ohio. Only one problem - she has a thing for "man muscle" especially when it is attached to jocks. How is she going to survive weeks with a rugby team?
I like Cami. She has some definite self esteem issues, is shy, reserved, likes to blend into the background. After learning her history, I could understand why she is the way she is. I can guarantee that I would feel the same way as her!
Van and Joel Stelson, brothers, co-owners and co-captains of The Slam. Man-muscle.
I gotta say, I really think that Van is a bit of a dick! The way he treats Cami, and women in general is not at all attractive. I don't care how good looking you are on the outside, that behaviour just makes you ugly in my eyes. Although yes, I did think some thing he said, did, or wore were amusing, overall he was too much of a douche!
Then there is Joel.... sigh, Joel! He is sweet, caring, loving. Complete opposite of Van, but just as, if not more appealing.
I could totally understand Cami being torn between the two. One is what she always wants, one is what she needs.
But of course things never run smoothly when it comes to matters of the heart, and Kick runs the same way. Jealousy, misunderstandings, fighting, bitchiness.
Can Cami find her HEA? For that you are going to have to read for yourself!
Ms Roberts has a knack in her writing of drawing you right into the story. You can hear the crowd roar at the stadium, feel the body hits, taste the blood, smell the sweat.
It is a fun, sweet, sensual, sexy, testosterone packed read, and a great addition to the Completion Series! Now I need to know if there will be more in this series!
By the way, I may have fallen a little bit for Joel.... and Van maybe, just maybe, redeems himself a bit!

A porn star who can't get it up - yep, sounds like the kind of book I would love.... and I did.
Decker's Wood was a light, funny, sweet, hot read that I couldn't put down once I started, it was just too much fun!
Who doesn't love a friends-become-lovers story. But it was so much more than that.
I loved that Decker Steele wasn't the normal male character we get in our stories these days. There was more to him than just his sex life (or lack of lately as it may be)! Love that there was more to him than just a smart arsed hottie.
Andi has known Decker most of her life, and has had a thing for him for most of that time. I loved that when they reconnected they didn't just fall into bed with each other. There was just that right amount of fun, laughter, angst, heartbreak.
Loved Casey and Lionel - Andi's neighbours. They brought an extra dose of humour into every scene they were in. Though the mental images of some of Casey's outfits... there are some things that bleach cannot erase!
If you are after a funny, sweet, sexy read that will put a big old smile on your dial, then definitely give Decker's Wood a read.

Rock star - check. M/M relationship - check!
When the author asked if I would be interested in reviewing her Shooting Stars series for her, it was a no brainer. My two favourite genres all rolled into one - sign me up!
And I was not disappointed
9 years after he left him, Alex has his past thrown in his face when he hears a song he wrote for his ex boyfriend playing on the radio.
Chance left Alex in less than perfect circumstances and pursued his career. Now an uber-famous rock star, he pretty much betrays Alex by recording said song.
Alex's career allows him to find a way to confront Chance - and boy to sparks fly!!
Alex and Chance together are super hot! There are so many feelings simmering beneath the exterior calm, for both men. The chemistry between them is palpable, you just know that things are going to be explosive between them - but will it be a in a good way or a bad way?
There are so many emotions in Forever is Now... love and hate, lust, fear, betrayal. There is more at stake for Chance and Alex then just their hearts. It may have been nearly a decade since they saw each other, but things have just intensified in all that time.
The whole time I wanted the pair to get their act together. At one time or another I wanted to scream at them to wake up to themselves, I wanted to hug them, I wanted them to communicate! Gah!
I loved the rest of Chase's band, they are the best of both worlds, fiercest critics but staunchest defenders. I also like most of Alex's co-workers though there are some that I just did not like from the beginning and and the story went on my dislike was justified.
Can Alex and Chase overcome what has happened in their past and have a future together?
For that you will have to read for yourself
