I liked How To Love Your Neighbour, but it didn't really wow me.

Grace and Noah were likable, fun characters. Though nothing we haven't seen before. The rich guy. The Struggling girl. NEver the twain should meet, but do, hate each other and then fall in love.

I did like the banter between them, and I did like the fighting is foreplay vibe they gave off. It just felt like so many other stories of its type that I have read before.

It was fun, it was enjoyable and I did like the secondary characters.

This is my first read in the Lighthouse Library series, so whilst I missed some of the little details, it didn't stop me enjoying the story.

I did feel that sometimes the author was trying to misdirect us by giving us superfluous information, but this could just be me.

I liked the mystery, I liked that Lucy seemed to grow a pair as the book progressed (I don't know what she was like in the other books, but she was a bit of a doormat at first in this one).

Quirky characters, a fun cat and a mystery that I did not guess right away. I would read more of this series in the future.

Thank you Allen and Unwin for my review copy.

We all know about Oskar Schindler and his list, but how many of us have heard of Esther "Tess" Simpson and the work she did getting Jewish artists and scholars to out of Germany, Austria and the like?

*raises hand* I will admit that I had never heard of her, and she is one of many, so so many whose stories need to be told and out there so more of us know about them.

I was engrossed in the tale that Ms Beecham has given us. I found myself googling things as they came up in the story, needed to know more about the story behind what was happening in the book.

In fact, I have spent as much time reading about Tess as I did reading the book. I love when a story gets to me like that.

A great combination of true story and fiction, I was intrigued and enthralled all at the same time.

This was my first Caroline Beecham story, and I will be reading more by her in the future

I loved it!

We met Rhett and Con in the previous Knights and Dragons book, and whilst I knew I was always going to love Rhett, I wasn't so sure about Con.

Oh ye of little faith, Janeane. I should have known that Ms Fernando would never give me a character that I would not come to love.

Yes, Rhett redeemed himself, but at the same time too I was ugh, why is everyone so on him - especially Clover, I kinda disliked her a lot for most of this book.

Somebody was also cutting onions as I was reading too, as there is no other reason why I would have had tears lol

Couldn't get enough of this story, and am looking forward to the next one in the series.

3.5 gun-totin' stars

I haven't read the first book in this series, but that did not affect my reading of book 2.

This is a fun, but a little frustrating tale of the wild west where you gotta get a job or get married to stay.

Nora and Adam were mostly likeable, however the frustration for me was that they don't communicate unless it is snarky and snapping at each other.

Most of the book is the MCs going backwards and forwards on why they won't marry/want to marry, and all of it could have been gotten over with in one quick conversation. I did like the banter, but it just went on too long.

But this is probably just me.

I did like the town and the people who live there, and the way they circle the wagons to protect those they call their own.

I will eventually go back and read the first book, and look forward to more in the series in the future.

The college-hockey-hottie-is-a-player is not new.

The "I'm not his type of girl" is not new.

The enemies to loves is not new

Them falling for each other is not new.

However, Boyfriend Material drew me right in and I enjoyed every second of it.

There was more depth to Eric than I expected. There's spark and snark between them, and it was great to watch them learn more about each other, and fight each other's fights.

There are great secondary characters - though there is one in particular that needs a swift kick in the bits!

Cute, fun and flirty, with a dash of heartache thrown in for good measure, this was an enjoyable read.

Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: No

I think this one is more a case of "it's not you, book - it's me"

It could be be ause it was book 12 in the series, it could be my covid-fogged rain, but I just couldn't really get into this one.

It was good enough that I read to the end, but I didn't really feel anything for any of the characters, at all.

So I won't say anything more than I think this was more the time and circumstances, and I think lots of others will really enjoy it

It is always a a sad day when we come to the end of a beloved series.

And when that book is a friends-to-more story, well, cover me in butter and put me in the oven, because I am done for!

Luca is the last Rossi to get their HEA, this time with his best friend London.

But gotta say, Luca really is a bit of an idiot hahaha. Took him long enough to remove head from sphincter to see what was right in front of him all along.

I loved how everyone else around him could see what was happening, but not him.

My heart hurt for London as her heart couldn't let go, no matter how hard she tried. The heart truly wanted what the heart wanted this time.

I can understand both of them now wanting to ruin their best-friendship, but boy did they waste some time together that would have been amazing.

The one thing that I did miss in this book from the whole series - some stuff with Scotty. I mean, Scotty still doesn't know hahah but there was stuff that happened with him that I was huh? Did I miss something? When did that happen?

But that could just be a me thing!

A satisfying conclusion to the First Responders series, and I look forward to what Ms Harvey brings us next.

If you ever feel the need to bitch and moan about your bad day/week/month/year (and now you're si fing the friends them along with me), think about this man, Eddie Jaku, and ask yourself "is my life really that bad?".

I can guarantee adter reading The Happiest Man On Earth that it isn't.

Eddie Jaku's story had me crying more than once, and cheering as once again he eacapes the Nazi regime.

If this was fiction, you would tell tiurself that this could never happen like this.

But it did. To thousands, millions of people.

How this amazing, inspiring man could go through the rest of his life not hating the world - well, he was a better man than I could even aspire to be.

A wonderful, poignant memoir. There needs to be more men like him in the world.

Fabulously narrated. This is one that i would recommend to everyone, and I will definitely be listening again
