Now, I won't lie. I did walk away from Kristen Ashley books for a while, but what a way to come bac with the River Rain series.
Since reading book one, I have been impatiently awaiting Rix and Alex's story.
And Ms Ashley did not disappoint me.
Painfully shy Alex and the way she is around Rix gave me vibes of Jet from the Rock Chick series.
And nobody writes a grunty alpha like KA, Even when I didn't particularly like the way Rix was acting, i couldn't help but love the guy.
I just wanted to wrap Alex up in a big ol' hug and tell her that we got her, and her family can go suck eggs (well, that is polite, and you will now what I mean when you read them).
Both these amazing people are going to have to take that leap, and you know that when it happens it is going to be amazing.
Loved getting more of Chloe and Judge, and I need, need, need Sully, Gage, Sasha, Hale and Dru to get their stories.
Can't wait to see where Ms Ashley takes this series next.

Mind. Blown.

What are you doing to me, Rachel Van Dyken?
I mean, every time I pick up one of your mafia books, I know it is going to be a roller coaster of a ride but mannn, I was a wreck from the prologue to the last word.
I... I... still, days later I don't know how to put into words what I think of Broken Crown,
My heart hurt for King. And it didn't stop right to the last word.My heart was ripped out of my chest, stomped on and then put back together again,
Being the last in the Mafia Royals series, there was so, so much going down and I was wondering how we were going to get through it all, But never fear, Ms Van Dyken never disappoints,
I was sitting here thinking "how can you make me dislike characters, yet have me love them at the same time?" There is always someone like that in her mafia world.
I am so, so sad that this is the end of the Mafia Royals - who would have thought I would love the next gen as much as the OG EE guys.
I hope we get more mafia in the future
BLOOD IN. NO OUT.

Well, wasn't that just a big ball of cute and fun.
The day I was reading was the 209th book birthday of one of my all time favourite books, Pride and Prejudice, so what a lovely surprise to be reading a book with a Darcy, Bingley and Caroline hahaha
I loved this road trip with Olivia, Eva and Poppy.
Wyatt and his family are great, they had me in stitches at times, but also there was a bit of heartbreak and sadness too.
But mostly it was just lovely. It was a little bit catfish, a little bit Farmer Wants a Wife, and a whole lot of smile-inducing.
It all happens in a short period of time, but nothing felt rushed.
I am looking forward to more time in Bitter and and with those Wilder boys

54 books in, and I still love Dallas and Roarke as much as book 1.
You would think that by now, JD Robb would have run out of ways to kill a person. Each time I am sure I am going to be able to guess whodunnit.
But nope, every time I am just as surprised as the first time.
Dallas is at her cop-best, Peabody her butt-wiggling finest, and Roarke is... well, Roarke just is - and is just fabulous.
I am not always a fan of books with flashback scenes, however this time it was a great way to get to know our protaganist and how they got to where they are today.
I also enjoyed getting snippets of secondary characters that we have come to know and love over the years, and seeing where they are at in their lives.
Bring on book 55!

Nikki Knight is a new to me author, and I was curious about Live, Local and Dead. I am a huge fan of cozies, and I liked that out leading lady runs a radio station instead of owning a bakery or a bookshop.
And usually in my cozies, the leading lady is involved in solving the mystery, but here Jaye is targeted and not involved, so we miss out on a lot of the workings of that.
And, now this is just my thing, it felt a bit too political for me. This probably won't bother anyone else, but for me it was just, nope, not something I needed in there. We get enough of that baloney n real life - sorry Ms Knight,
This was the first in this series, so I probaby will read more (just hoping less politics haha)

I came later to the world of Kindle Alexander, so I never got to read Up In Arms when it was first released.
However I am so glad I got in early with the rerelease, as Reed and Trevor's story just swept me up and took me on the journey with them.
It is sweet, it is romantic, and whilst it made me laugh and smile, it hurt my heart and brought out the protective and "don't you mess with them" side in me.
So different, but so perfect for each other, you can't help but falling for them as they fall for each other. I loved that Reed goes for what he wants, and how he falls quickly and falls for life. I loved how he brought Trevor out of his shell, even though he had to prove himself to Trevor, who was so shy,
I did have my issues with one character, who was such an a-hole to Trevor, and I just wanted to slap him like Cher slaps Nicolas Cage and yell "Snap out of it!"
I really enjoyed going back to where the Kindle Alexander story started, and can't wait for more from them in the future

Firstly, I liked that for a cozy, that the main character did not run a book shop/coffee shop/florist. I liked the ex journalist turn mixologist for her
Now, there was nothing too new about this story, and I did pick whodunnit quite easily this time, however it was enjoyable.
It did take until nearly the end to really empathise with Samantha. I just didn't really care about her at all. I liked her best friends a lot more, but even they didn't make a big impression (I mean, now, I can't even remember their names)
Whilst the story was OK, it just wasn't fleshed out enough for me. I know there is a lot of world building involved, but to me it was just a bit lacking - but I would read more books about these characters if they came along.
