This new series started with two of my favourite CB characters to daye - Neil and Sasha.

I loved that they have brought about a new series for me to enjoy.

The Richter series are going to feel heavier than Ms Bybee's previous series, but that is to be expected with the subject matter of Changing The Rules.

Thus book gave this old duck memories of her days watching 21 Jump Street.

I did find that it took me a while to really get into the swing of this book, but once I was in it I couldn't wait to turn each page.

Adored Claire, but the character who i loooved is Jax, and I can't wait for her story.

This book does delve into the world of sex slavery, so at times it is not for the faint hearted

Oh, how I wanted to love Corinne and Wesley's story, but in the end I only just liked it.

I am a fan of a strong, independant woman forging her way in her career, and taking down the mysoginists on the way, but there was something about Corinne that just irked me.

It was not the imbalance, though that is an issue whether it is the man or woman in the position of power. It was not her keeping things a dirty little secret. I just can't put my finger on what is was.

I was a bit confused by the inappropriate things that they did in the office, but then there was the complaining about inappropriate things in the office. Don't get me wrong, I abhor sexual harrassment in the workplace, or in any place, but don't go do things you did which are just as inappropriate - OK, rant over.

These might just be things that bothered me though, and others might not have that problem.

Hot Copy did have its cute and heartwarming moments, but overall the other stuff just took away from my being completely involved in the story.

Seems that Sweet Spot really does tick a lot of boxes for me!

I have adored each and every book in the Home Run series to date, and I have to say, the title is exactly what book number 4 is. It is sweet.

Nick and Cody's spring fling has been over for 4 years, but neither has forgotten those weeks.

Now, years down the track, their paths have crossed again and as much as they want to deny it, that attraction, that spark, that want is still there.

Oh my heart broke for them both when their paths crossed again. Cody for all the hurt that he went through when Nick left, and Nick for knowing that he caused the pain, all the regrets he has held onto for years.

Cody and Nick both fell hard back then, but now their hearts could be absolutely obliterated if things don't go well.

I loved that as much as this is their story, it tells us to also follow your dreams. Follow your passion. Follow your heart.

And if you are lucky, they will lead you back to where you really want to be.

I loved how Nick's relationship with his father blossomed through his story. I could understand why Nick would try to distance himself from his father, but was so happy where they ended.

I loved that we got more of the boys from the earlier books in the series. Adore Adore Adore Sean and Mason more than ever. But each and every one of that extended family feel like they are part of my family.

Cody and Nick's story had a gritty feel to it. Their relationship, their problems, the hurdles they crossed all had a realism to them.

Sloan Johnson has hit another home run with Sweet Spot, and I can't wait to see what she brings us next.

Drowning In Stars was one of my favourite books of last year, and Swimming In Sparkles is in the same vein.

Ruffian and Teddi's story pulls at the heartstrings. Whilst it is not as angsty as many of Ms Anastasia's other works, it will make you laugh, make you cry, get you frustrated and angry and get all grrr.

But it will make you smile. This pair could not be any more different if they tried, but it is all heart eyes for each other as soon as they meet.

Ruffian is Gaze from Drowning In Stars brother, so we get to catch up with Gaze and Pixie as well as learn about Ruffian.

Whilst I loved how everyone comes together, to me, it just felt all too easy. I don't know, to me I think I wanted, no I needed a bit more drama - I know, I know, I am too picky lol

My favourite part was the cameos by some beloved Debra Anastasia character, but I think you need to read and get the OOOH moment for yourself.

I now need to get a book for Austin, who you are yet to meet (but who gives me whole David Rose vibes).

Please make this happen, Ms Anastasia

BABY BAAAAYYYEEERRRRRRRRRRR!!!

I mean, yay, Anton Bayer heheh

If you have read Ms Bowen's Brooklyn Bruisers series, you have met Anton - the prankster, the player, the booze hound.

But now Baby Bayer is all grown up and taking his life and career seriously, and I adore him even more.

And this book is double the hockey, so yay! Though boo too, as it makes me mad when we see the disparity between women's and men's sports. And yay again for featuring a women's professional sports team!

Sylvie is so naive, so love struck by her childhood friend that she can't see the good man right in front of her, and I wanted to shake some sense into her for that. Because her friend, he's a douche to her and needs a nut punch!

I loved getting the locker room banter and sexy bromances from the Bruisers - these guys crack me up! And then there is the female friendships and I love how they have each others backs and they aren't trying to tear each other down.

I really enjoyed Bombshells, and now I am impatiently waiting the next book (but why does it have to be a year away???)

Bring on all the hockey, Ms Bowen. Bring. It. On.

Second First Impressions has been one of my most anticipated books of 2021, so I was over the moon to receive and advanced copy.

This book is more in the vein of The Hating Game (one of my most loved, most reread books of the past 5 years)

Ruthie and Teddy have that push/pull thing going on (though why anyone would want to push him away is beyond me lol). I adored him completely. It took me a little bit to warm up to Ruthie, but as the book moved along she really grew on me. At first I wanted to reach in and pull the stick out of her butt (though I think her co-worker Melanie was already working on that for me).

The residents of this retirement community will keep you on your toes - though there is something revealed that felt unnecessary, and maybe just thrown in as an afterthought? But this could just be me.

And again, this just being me, I didn't feel the relationship between Teddy and his family. Am I supposed to hate them? Feel ambivilent? I just didn't know what

This is a lot of two steps forward, one step back. I enjoy a slow burn, but this seemed like it was never going to get there for a while!

Whilst this is not the dizzying heights of The Hating Game (and let's face it, that is always going to be a big thing to live up to), Second First Impressions was enjoyable and sweet story that I will read again in the future.

Sparks fly off the pages the minute we meet Dillon and West. Maaaaan the lust bug flits between this pair straight away, and as a reader, I knew it was going to be hot when they got themselves sorted.

Whoda thunk that going on her honeymoon alone (can I saw eeeew for how she ended up alone) would turn into the fling of her life.

There's a little sad, a little funny and a lotta sexy between our lovelies. And the setting of the Maldives isn't a hard thing to deal with either (stupid pandemic and small bank account stopping me getting there).

I did want to shake some sense into West at times, however I could also understand his reluctance to take things further (even when I wanted to shake him for being so stupid!)

This was an enjoyable, sexy read that will warm you up on a cold night.

The book that started with a type lol

Hannah has had a bit of a bad rap throughout the Capricorn Cove series, so it was great to see her get her story.

Boy oh boy, things are a bit of a mess in our lady's life, and I loved seeing Malik bring it all together for her.

And yay for the dad-bod leading man. I can't be the only one who gets over all the guys having 8 packs and always at the gym. Give me the cookie-crunching, normal guy!

There were a couple of "what the heck is happening? What am I reading?" as I laughed out loud moments.

Bring me more of these normal men, Ms Mitchell!

Here we go - a "sports romance" without a sports star as our lead player. We are in the sphere of the Harris brothers (Harris Ho and proud here!), with Bethnal Green's lawyer Santino Rossi, and Mac Logan's sister Tillly.

Santino is the man! He is the only other Amy Daws character who has come close to getting anywhere near the dizzying heights of my love for Hayden Clarke #MyHayden.

I loved getting into both our lovelies heads, especially when it came to learning about their past.

Though I will say I a surprised at some of Santino's actions, as he is such a protector, and I was all "what the eff, man? What are you doing?". However he redeems himself very well, and that is a good thing, as I didn't want to have to kick his ar$e hahaha

Papa Bear Mac comes across as a bit of a douche at times, but as we learn more of the demons our lovelies have dealt with, it is understandable. Plus, his lovely lass Freya doesn't let him get away with that crap.

You can't help but need the fiery Italian and stubborn Scot to get through their fights, their worries, their pasts and get their HEA.

Ms Daws has also given us one heck of a set up for the next book in the series. Believe me when I tell you, you are NOT ready for what is to come.

Bring it on!
