Darkness and mystery about in this thriller set in New Orleans (and man, has this also made me want to go back and visit NOLA).

When Delaney travels to New Orleans to research Voodoo, never did she ever believe in a) voodoo and b) that her asking around would put a target on her back.

From the minute Valentine King meets Delaney, he is hooked.

Mystery, intrigue, suspense. King Me was one of those stories that kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading.

Throughout the story I thought I knew who the bad buys were, and I never really knew who I - or Delaney - could trust.

And I am not ashamed to say that I thought some bad things about some of the good guys!

I was completely drawn into the vibe of New Orleans, I could feel the heat, imagine the sights (and the smells - it can be a bit of a stinky place lol).

Now I want beignets, and I want more of Delaney and King.

I can't wait to see what Ms Vining brings us next.

Lucifer Falls is a dark, gritty police procedural that had me gripped from beginning to end. I couldn't wait to turn the page to see where this story would take me.

A murder mystery with so many twists and turns, I was kept on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading.

Whilst this is a dark story, there is plenty of darkd humour through our main character, Charlie George, and the men and women he works with.

There were so many red herrings thrown into this, just when you think you know who the killer is, we are thrown another curve ball. I am usually pretty good and can pick the bag guys, but this time, nope, not a chance!

Lucifer Falls was a well crafted story, has engaging characters, and has left me wanting more.

This was my first Colin Falconer read, and I hope we get more of Charlie George and this series in the future.

Nico. Freaking Nico!!

I have had this book sitting on my kindle for what seems forever so now I am kicking myself for taking so long to get to it.

While I loved Quinn in Neanderthal Seeks Human, I completely freaking LOVED Nico,he's my mind of man.

While he's there were the funny aspects of Friends Without Benefits, it was a lot deeper than I thought it would be.

I swear I agreed more years in Elizabeth and Nico' s story than I expected. Parts of their story were simply v heart breaking.

At times I wanted to smack their heads together to get them to stop their stupid decisions all the while praying they would soon get their shit together.

Loved that we got more of the knitting group. There is not one thing I don't adore about this quirky group of friends.

Now on to the next book.

Woot! Another Sawyer Bennett hockey hottie to add to my collection!

Welcome to Phoenix, home of the Arizona Vengeance.

If you have read the previous two book in this series, you have already met Legend and the love Pepper - you might remember how much Legend just looooves his new neighbour (that was sarcasm there).

I will say, I had forgotten about Pepper (not because she is forgettable, it is just my bookzheimerish brain).

However, one flamingos were mentioned, I was all over it.

Boy, this book started with a big WTF moment, and never stopped from there one.

I adore the banter and attraction between Legend and Pepper. You can cut the sexual tension with a knife.

It it not all smooth sailing though, and I had a few more WTF moments throughout this book.

There is great set up for a couple more books too. I hope I have somethings figured out, however I am looking forward to be taking on their journeys - particularly the story of Tacker.

I can't wait to see where Ms Bennett takes us next.

I have adored Ms Trentham's Cottonbloom series, and even though this is a big departure from what I have read of hers previously, I knew I was going to enjoy The Military Wife.

And I was hooked on Harper's story right from the start.

From the blurb, you know that she is a military widow, surviving daily life but struggling to move forward.

An unexpected revelation takes her on a journey that she would never have expected. And it is as unexpected for her late husband's "brother" Bennett.

Though there is that spark between our lovelies, sexual tension that burns through the pages, this is more about the emotions both of them are feeling.

And as I continued reading, I just knew that they would be what each other needed to heal.

There is a wonderful cast of secondary characters, including Harper's mother, her son and her best friend.

And oh the tears some of these stories brought me to.

Raw, emotional, hopeful. The Military Wife had a bit of it all.

I now can't wait to see where this series takes us next.

I really wanted to really enjoy this book, however to me it fell flat.

I liked the premise of the book, and I thought things could have been funnier, more of a rom-com than we got.

Though the main thing that made this fall flat for me was our leading lady Raina. Though she is nearly 30 years old, she came off as immature. I was sure at times I was reading about a 14 year old girl not a smart, successful woman.

I just didn't get her. She came across as childish and selfish and like she was going to stamp her foot and chuck a tanty every second page.

But this could just be me.

I really think that this book had potential. This might be a case of it's not you, it's me.

It's been a while since I have read a BDB story, and Lover at Last has been taunting me from my shelf for a few years now (darn blogging and not enough hours in the day)

Blay and Qhuinn's story is the one I have been waiting for since... well since forever. My heart will always belong to John Matthew, however this pair have been bound to give him a run for my affections.

This story was everything. Whilst I wanted it to be alllll about B & Q getting to the good stuff and their HEA, I knew it was not going to be this way.

I loved that it was a slow burn. I loved that they had so many things they needed to overcome to get to a HEA.

I loved seeing the other Brothers and their loves. Sigh, man, it makes me want to move into their mansion and have their vampire babies!

Now I need to not leave it so long before I start the next book.

This follows on right where the previous book ended.

But for me, this time, I don't know, I just wasn't feeling it.

Harper and Eric's story was like watching an action movie. There was just no stopping from the first word to the last.

However, I felt that this time there was just to much happening, but not much going on at the same time, if that makes any sense?

It was lots of trust me, don't do that, don't go there. I felt there was too much of the same old same ol going around in circles before we got to the point. It felt a bit padded out, and that perhaps books 2 and 3 could have been one book - but this could just be me. I found myself skipping great big passages of the book to get to the next stage.

I like where Harper and Eric's story is going, I loved getting more Grayson and Mia, and I am looking forward to seeing where this story goes.

But this one was a bit of a miss for me.
