I don't even look at the blurb any more of a book in The Beat and The Pulse series. I know I am going to get a sexy and sweet (in his own way) MMA fighter and a girl that will win his heart.

To say that Storm and Callie's relationship starts of hot and steamy is an understatement! Phew, was it sexy or what?!?!

I adore Callie. She is sweet and fun and sexy - but has those self doubts that we all have.

Mark "Storm" Ryder is the bad guy of The Underground, and he perpetuates that image so no one sees the real guy behind it all. Ugh, I wanted to slap him and hug him and talk some sense into him.

I loved that spark between them, that no matter what they couldn't stay away from each other, as hard as they tried. I was their biggest cheerleader as the story progressed.

I loved getting back to The Underground, little snippets of characters from earlier in the series.

Strike is full of emotion, and I am not going to lie, I may have shed a tear or two whilst reading.

There were some great secondary characters, especially Callie's best friend Macy - though I am still undecided about my thoughts on her, I still like her.

It is sad that this series is only one book away from coming to a close. - these characters have become like friends over the past couple of years.

Now to see what Ms Cross brings us next.

You will need to have read book 1, The Player before picking up The Catch as the story continues on where book 1 ended.

And where book one ended - Not Happy, Jan!

I was so happy to dive back into the world of the Aces, Scout and Easton.

And The Catch was just the conclusion that I needed, that Scout and Easton needed.

Once again Ms Bromberg has given us characters that you can't help but fall in love with - well, most of them, there were a couple this time that I really, really disliked.

Me head, my heart, my emotions were all over the shop. Just when I thought I knew everything that was happening in their world, we were thrown another curve ball that had me spinning

I adored that through it all, Scout and Easton were together. Through thick and thin. Sure, there was a little drama at the beginning, but it did not continue through the whole book - yay for that!

I laughed, I cried, I got so mad I wanted to throw my kindle across the room. Thank you Ms Bromberg that brought out all the emotions.

I can't wait to see what you bring us next.

3.5 Romanov stars

ARC received via Netgalley for an honest review

A retelling of Anastasia? This had me intrigued.

I find the story of the Romanov family and the mystery of whether Anastasia survived or not fascinating, so it was not hardship to read Royally Romanov.

I liked the cute and quirky Finley, adored her passion for her work.

Then there is Maxim in all his amnesiac glory. Broody and surrounded by mystery, I could understand why Finley gets swept away in all the mystery and romance of the "lost Romanov".

Whilst I enjoyed the cuteness and the romance of it all, I did feel that the conclusion of things felt a little lack lustre. I felt that there was so much lead up, so much suspense all building up, and then ... nothing. It kind of fell flat - however this could just be me.

I haven't read Royally Roma, however I did like Romanov enough that I will go back and read it too.

We were set up for Kayla and the mysterious Logan's story in the previous duets, and now it is finally time for them to get their HEA.

I have adored the dog pushing, doughnut loving Kayla since we first met her. She is completely in love with Logan, but he won't let himself be with her - but does that horrible "I don't want her but don't want anyone else to have her" thing with her.

Logan - sigh, I can understand why he is so standoffish, but it doesn't make him any less frustrating! As each brick in the wall he built around him was chipped away, I loved him even more. I adore him with the mysterious Skylar, but OMG his ex wife Maggie - I just wanted to smack that woman over the head with my Kindle, and hope that she got better as the book went on!

This installment has a bit of everything. It is sweet and sexy and funny, but with a bit of sadness and loneliness thrown in there.

I LOVE getting more of the guys and gals from the previous duets. The lives of these friends are so interwoven that it wouldn't be right with out them - especially Viola and Courtney!

Not going to lie, we are left with one heck of a cliffhanger - but we don't have too long to wait for the second half of this duet in September.

I want, no I need more!

Now, where can I find doughnuts???

Oy, it pains me to say it, but Smitty's Sheriff was a miss for me.

I have adored everything I have ready by Cardeno C to date, but this one just didn't do it for me.

I just couldn't with either of our MC's, Richard or Todd. I felt Richard to be very condescending, patronising and just downright unlikable.

Todd, whilst at times I really liked him, other times he felt very immature and whiney and childish. I thought at first it was the age difference that made me feel this way, but nope, they would have been the same if they were the same age.

Todd really needed to stop being a doormat and grow a pair.

Rich really needed to stop being a d!ck.

Gah, this pair frustrated me so much as I know that they would have been a great couple if they didnt infuriate me so much whilst read. This is the first time that I considered DNFing a Cardeno C book, and that makes me sad.

But I will be right there waiting when the next book is released.

Another amazing KA alpha and his woman!

I am glad that I started on audiobooks, as now knowing what I would have been missing waiting till November for the ebook would have driven me nuts.

I adore everything about our leading lady Greta - her heart, her compassion.

Then we have Hix -well, not going to lie, there were times where I wanted to clonk him over the head with my phone for things he said and did, but we all know that a KA alpha always redeems himself, and he did that in a big way.

I enjoyed the narration - told in dual POV with two narrators, this drew me right into the story. I could feel the emotion of the story through their story telling. Some of the best narrators I have come across (in my short listening career!).

Hot alphas, a woman who won't take his crap, lots of loving secondary characters - yep, this had all the things that I love in a KA book.

Saddle up for Harper Sloan's new Coming Home series, because we are going to be in for a bumpy ride.

This is the second book in the Coming Home series, and is the David girl Quinn's story.
I adore Quinn. I love that she isn't all girly girly, she is a mechanic and car restorer, more comfy under a car than meeting people in a bar.
Tate Montgomery is the one that got away - well, the one that went away and never came back - and the one Quinn holds all other men up to.

I liked that this was pretty much angst and drama free. Yeah, there were things from the past that needed to be sorted out, but nothing OTT or too ridiculous.

One thing that did irritate me - Quinn and her "kiss my boots". She sounded like a five year old stomping her feet and chucking a hissy fit, and she said it all the time - but this might just be me.

I loved getting back to Pine Oak and the characters of the town. I loved seeing where Mav and Leighton were up to, and now need to know that Clay finally meets his match and gets his HEA.

Now, I am not usually one to read YA - old fart here - however I will pick up and read anything by Kylie Scott.

And wow! Just wow! This book is amazing. It had me hooked from the very first page, and I just needed to flick each page to find out what was going to happen.

Have you watched the book trailer? Check it out on youtube, you won't regret it.

Everything about this book had me on edge. From the events that start it all, to Edie and John dealing with the aftermath.

I adore Edie. Belittled her whole life, she draws such strength from not just what happens, but from John. What a guy is all I can say about John. I can't get all swoony over him, as I could be his mother! However he is all kinds of amazing.

I don't want to give anything away with this story, but I had a serious book hangover when I finished. I know we throw those words around a bit, but this one was just like the book.

Dark. Broody. Intense.

Buy it. Read it. Love it.

Take it from this old fart, you will not be disappointed.

Wrecked - that was exactly how I felt during and after reading this book.

Wrecked is a beautiful, heartbreaking story of two damaged souls, full of guilt and hurt, coming together to love and heal each other.

I can't tell you how many times I teared up as I was reading. This wasn't a book with just one pivotal moment. There were many times where this story could have gone in any direction, and Ms Salsbury kept us on our toes!

Colt and Sawyer's imperfections made them perfect for each other. They draw each other out, make each other better people.

Wrecked was not always an easy read - more than once I was a bleary eyed mess trying to read, but Ms Salsbury wrote such a beautiful story that I just had to keep moving one to the next page.

It is raw, emotional and gritty, but also sweet and sexy and funny.

I read this book in one sitting, and now can't wait to see what JB Salsbury brings us next.
