I knew...I knew this one wasn't going to be for me. I put off reading this for so long because after Song of Achilles I knew my expectations were going to be too high and that I wouldn't be able to accept that this was a different book with different strengths and themes and whatnot. And I was right. I was extremely well crafted but I just never felt emotionally connected to this book in the slightest.

This reread was A BLAST FROM THE PAST y’all but I picked it up again in preparation for Rebel coming out tomorrow. It was still decent, but for some reason it didn’t stand up as much as some other nostalgic reads from the same era did for me.
