I was just not vibing with the audiobook - switching to the eBook to see if it's the narrator / audio or if it's just the book.

Honestly kind of a rough first half but I'm invested now.

Is it just that the people who are picking this up don't read a lot of romance? I've certainly liked plenty of mainstream romances but this was truly one of the more uninspired, flat ones I've read in a bit. Baffled by the hype.

At first, Delphie was one of the more unlikeable characters I've read in a while, but I knew this was for the character growth so I pushed on and of course, I enjoyed it more and more as I went on. I still found Delphie's complete lack of social graces to be really tough to read and frankly unenjoyable, but I loved the cast of side characters and the journey Delphie went on to get to know them better. Also, what a good name - Delphie. I love it.

This book reminded me a little of the Hating Game, not really at all in plot but just in vibes, if that makes sense? There's something to the realness and the weirdness (required for realness) of these characters that just made the book shine for me.
