another excellent October read.
I've never leaned into reading spooky books around Halloween time but I'm really feeling it this year

A fun fantasy YA novel/retelling of the Little Mermaid (but only by very, very loosest of definitions) that was an easy one-sitting read.
Fell prey to a few of the typical pitfalls of fantasy novels but none that distracted too much from the story.
Deliciously vicious main characters, delightful reimagining of the sirens, mermaids, and other creatures.

F*CK
this is so so good.
like. oh my god. so good.
alice oseman somehow always manages to write stories that are so immeasurably touching and feel like they speak directly to my heart no matter what they are about. i'm not aro or ace, but that doesn't mean georgia's story can't reach me on a deeply personal level and it did
i am perpetually in awe.

Buddy read with Bethany💕
Tell Me How You Really feel was insanely cute and you know I love a good hate-to-love trope. I liked the girls and their families and their struggles...they felt really real. Unfortunately, this is maybe the third “teen struggles with overbearing family” book I’ve read in the last week and a half so that part I didn’t love just because of the repetition.
