How does a person even go about rating a book like this?
This is not a book you will enjoy reading. It is not a pleasant distraction from the world, nor is it a form of lighthearted entertainment.
But I think it’s necessary sometimes to read books like this, that remind us of our responsibilities as humans to protect one another.
I won’t say that the writing and the plot are perfect or that this is a five star piece of literature. It isn’t. But that’s not how I’m choosing to rate this book. I, unlike some others, never had any issues with the writing. Yes, the plot was a little heavy-handed, but that was the point. And on top of it all, the emotional punch was fully there.

I have finally managed to finish slogging through this and y'all, it was bad. So here are my three biggest gripes:
1. I deeply hated the integration of social media and fantasy elements.
2. All of the characters were so flat and underdeveloped, I didn't care about the story in the slightest.
3. The world-building was so confusing, the magic system never made any sense to me.
