i don't...uh... know how to rate this since it was pretty much 0% plot but ms katee robert is good at what she's good at
Okay this is so frustrating because I usually hate reviews that are just "this is like x book but not as good" because every book has things that make it unique and good! but hooooly shit this was beat for beat just like [b:The Hating Game|25883848|The Hating Game|Sally Thorne|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1467138679l/25883848._SY75_.jpg|45762345] and yes, of course, there were notable differences but at this point I feel like I find myself reading Hating Game clones wayyy too often for my liking. Y'all...coworkers who hate each other but have to work together on something but then one of them gets sick so they have a tender moment where the other one nurses them back to health and then they go as fake dates to one of their sibling's wedding is before finally realizing that all that hate was just a misunderstanding followed by ages of simmering sexual tension and giving in to their abrupt declarations of love...is just really goddamn similar.
I really liked the first book in the series but this was not it. A lot of boring world-building and nothing... I suppose its the middle-book-of-the-trilogy-curse in a way but I just really did not enjoy this. Haven't decided yet if I'll finish the series.
it's genuinely infuriating how much better this was than the last one but i'm glad i gave it a chance
