Rachel takes to train to work every day. And on that train, she can't help but look out and fantasize about the life she missed out on. As the days pass and she begins to fixate on the couple who lives by the tracks, her fantasy is once again interrupted by the disappearance of one of the members of that perfect couple.
I will say this; I spoiled this book for myself a few years ago when the movie came out and I bought the book. I had previously started reading this book two times already, so this time I used an audiobook to help me through it.
Rachel (and everyone else) in this book are just so unlikeable. Not only that, but the romanization and rampant amount of cheating, the self-destructive characters, or the sudden 180s in behavior really make it hard to finish this book.
I did like the storyline, but I will admit my thoughts on it are a little tainted due to the previous spoiling.
Overall though, it's not that bad of a book. It was well written and I understood that these characters were flawed.

Harry Potter is back at Hogwarts. As the second years attend class, a mysterious evil is lurking around the castle, attacking and petrifying students. As Hogwarts is being threatened and at the brink of closing down, Harry, Ron, and Hermione try to figure out who's behind the attacks.

This time, the book delt less with an introduction of the world and more with the central plot/mystery.
I can't wait to reread the next book (mainly for the introduction of some of my favorite characters).

Summary:
Teenagers all over the world send in letters with their own problems relating to love, and Young Adult authors receive them, ready to reply with their experiences and advice.
What I Liked:
There were some letters/replies that were better than others.
My favorite letter would've been the one by [a: Jasmine Warga|7224009|Jasmine Warga|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1388344164p2/7224009.jpg], where she actually gives good advice on communicating with a friend and prioritizing yourself over what you believe you are obligated to do.
The one of most helpful one was by [a: A. S. King|1651879|A.S. King|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1323437957p2/1651879.jpg], where she mentions a bunch of topics like the friend zone and loneliness. Despite it being one of the most helpful, it was lacking.
What I Didn't Like:
[a: A. S. King|1651879|A.S. King|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1323437957p2/1651879.jpg]'s portion of the book was the most helpful, but that isn't much. She spends 11 pages responding to two words: "Fuck You." It was at this point that I realized this is less of an advice/answering book and more of a book that allows authors to share their experiences alongside current teenagers.
Reading some of the stories back to back, a lot of the letters and replies blend together. Nothing really stands out, and there isn't much purpose to the book, in my opinion. There are a bunch of cliche answers (I guess they are cliche for good reason), but due to the fact that the cliche replies means it's widespread and universal, it also means the book is kind of redundant.
Overall:
Instead of rating each letter/reply, I decided to review them all together, simply because everything in this book kind of ended up blended together due to the fact that it was all very similar content. The lack of originality and actual advice made the book seem redundant and boring.
Also the fact that it took me exactly 2 months to finish this book says it all.

not gonna lie, the first book is the best. then it kinda doesn't get better, but it still is good :)
i once again skipped the epilogue, but i have to agree... i didn't like the fact that everyone got powers at the end. and i also refuse to acknowledge the theory that magpie is hinted to be nova's little sister. she is too annoying for me to like and for me to even acknowledge that theory.

» PLOT «
The Renegades' worst enemy is back and threatening to reclaim Gatlon City. Nova and Adrian must brave lies and betrayal to protect those they love. Their greatest fears are about to come to life, and unless they can bridge the divide between heroes and villains, they stand to lose everything.
I personally didn't like the epilogue. I understand why it was there, and I liked the fact that it mirrors the introduction from [book:Renegades|28421168], but I just didn't like the character or the reasoning enough. She did not have enough character development to justify adding her point of view as the epilogue.
This book was much more sad than the first 2 books.
I'm disappointed that the we never got more of Nova and Adrien repairing their relationship after the (second) reveal , especially since that was something that was build up throughout all three books. Not only that, but the ending was really rushed. [book:Winter|13206900] Literally had 100 pages worth of epilogue/wrapping up and this book didn't even give us an epilogue focusing around Nova or Adrien.
» READABILITY «
This book by far was faster paced than the first two books. It also had a lot more action and plot points.
» CHARACTERS «
Once again, not all of the characters are likeable or even justified, but at least the main characters are good.
» WRITING «
Other than the epilogue, this book was fantastic.
» OVERALL «
Clearly I didn't like the ending/epilogue. I couldn't care less about Magpie and the fact that the epilogue was about her just feels like a great cake with an awful aftertaste. I wanted more Adrien and Nova. :(

Nova hates the Renegades and with vengeance on her mind, she plans to infiltrate them and take them down from the inside. Adrien, as a part of the Renegades, believes in justice and peace. As Nova's and Adrien's paths align, they each have secrets that threaten their growing relationship and the world around them.
I've recently discovered one of my favorite tropes is secret identities and a love square centering around those secret identities. And this book (as well as the rest of the series) delivers on this fully.
That plot twist at the end though!

Jordan just moved in with her boyfriend and his father. But as her boyfriend leaves the house for long periods of time, Jordan form a connection with his father, Pike.
The age gap is weird. The fantasization of having children with someone literally the same age as your son to justify a sexual relationship with them is weird. That's it.
» READABILITY «
This was medium paced, nothing really happens until 50% into the book. This book was fairly easy to read, nothing too bad.

» PLOT «
After Patroclus is exiled to the court of King Peleus and his son Achilles, they form an unlikely friendship. As they grow into young men skilled in the arts of war and medicine, their bond blossoms into something deeper - despite the displeasure of Achilles's mother,Thetis. But when word comes that Helen of Sparta has been kidnapped, Achilles must go to war in distant Troy and fulfill his destiny. Torn between love and fear for his friend, Patroclus follows, not knowing that the years that follow will test everything they hold dear.
In this entire book, the ending was my least favorite, despite the semi happy ending. If everything at the end had followed Achilles's wishes, it would've been perfect. However, I still give the plot rating 5 stars, simply because I loved the flow and overall story.
» READABILITY «
This was an easy read, but there were some duller parts. I'd say it was medium paced.
» CHARACTERS «
The two main characters are pretty amazing. I already liked Patroclus and Achilles, and this book only emphasized and amplified that. They were both likeable and fun.
» WRITING «
There were some beautiful writing and quotes in this book, but after reading Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, I'd say that book had better writing.
» OVERALL «
After Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe made me cry, I should've expected it from this book too.
I don't have a lot to say, so just know I really liked this book.
