It's currently 12:13 a.m., and all I can think right now is "WOW". This book was amazing; a new favorite for sure. My mind is mush, so I'll write a review later on, after I've gotten a few hours of sleep. ;)
Edit, 11 hours later- This was an awesome sci-fi mystery read. Amy and Elder were awesome leads, although Elder was a bit frustrating at times. There were a bunch of twists and I was hooked until the end. I'll be reading the sequel [b:A Million Suns|10345927|A Million Suns (Across the Universe, #2)|Beth Revis|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1330214586s/10345927.jpg|15248718] next! :D

* actually 4.5 stars
This book was amazing! There were a bunch of plot twists and Amy went through some great character development. Elder did too, but I didn't like him quite as much. I really enjoyed this book. My only problem was that there were a couple of times it seemed inconsistent. Regardless, I'll be looking for Shades of Earth next time I go to the library! :D

WOW. I totally understand now why everyone loves this. It's amazing. The characters were so strong and relatable, the plot was brilliant and had an awesome twist, and the romance was beautiful, although the ending was kind of heartbreaking. And the descriptions were gorgeous from page one! :D

Omg!!! I'm so shocked right now. Katy and Daemon were even better than before and I didn't think that was possible. So were the other characters... even the ones that had different motives. Which were all completely shocking! Plus Katy and Daemon's relationship was so cute! I need Opposition asap!!

Oh my freaking God, I loved this book so, so much. It was absolutely amazing; gripping, emotional, addicting. I couldn't get enough of this book. I didn't want to put it down and I dreaded the end. Nyx was a venomous protagonist, but desperate too, and I didn't even mind. I liked it, actually, because she was written so well. And Ignifex, I don't even know where to start. He's one of my all-time favorite characters, and I love him so much. I loved him from the very first page he was introduced and that didn't waver throughout the story. He reminded me some of Magnus Bane, another of my favorite characters, although I don't exactly know why, but he was just too awesome to not like him. I almost lost it reading about the twist towards the end, and I was so happy and so relieved for the ending, probably more so than is healthy, but anyway. The way Nyx fell in love with Ignifex reminded me of that of Beauty and the Beast, but there wasn't much else that did. I don't care though, the book as a whole was just perfect. Definitely 5/5 stars, and I'd probably give it 10 if the rating system went that high, not even joking. This is definitely one of my new favorite books, and I absolutely cannot wait for book 2. It might be out yet, if it is I'll be picking it up as soon as possible, and if it isn't, I will have the hardest time waiting for it. I'm completely serious. I'm just totally, 100% in love with this story in every possible way, it holds a special place in my heart, and I will surely be rereading it soon.
Okay, I'll stop now. XD

This book was absolutely amazing! Rick didn't disappoint. I can't wait for The Hammer of Thor next October! :D (( full review on my blog — https://heirofglitter.wordpress.com/2015/10/13/the-sword-of-summer-review/ ))
