I've been a fan of Rachel Caine for over a decade, starting with her fantastic supernatural series the Morganville Vampire series. Just when I was looking for a good crime/thriller series, Rachel Caine released the Stillhouse Lake novels. I love these books for so many reasons: they're gritty, they've got soul, they're addictive!! I was absolutely devastated to learn of Caine's death shortly after the release of the last Stillhouse Lake novel, and I wasn't expecting another one. Caine started this book, but was unable to finish it. Carrie Ryan takes on this book and expertly captures Caine's writing style to the point where I kept forgetting that I was reading a book part written by another author. I don't want to give any spoilers, but please just trust me: this book is worth the read, don't be discouraged by the fact it's been co-written! 10/10 for me.

Very slow with a lot of filler, BUT a very good twist at the end!

I struggled to get into this because it was initallly hard for me to get my head around, but the twist really made this book. The perfect ending. I'd definitely recommend this, make sure you stick with it!
