This book is like a warm hug. The author intentionally based it off of Nora Ephron’s 80’s and 90’s rom-coms and it is a beautiful ode to those movies. As soon as I heard about this book I knew I wanted to read it considering Sleepless in Seattle was probably my mom and my favorites of Ephron’s movies. The characters were wonderfully written and complex enough to make the story believable and fun. I adored Lucie and Maya from the moment I met them and saw a lot of my own relationship with my mom from theirs. I can’t wait for the other books in this series to come out and fall in love with rom-comms all over again.

This is the second book of Taylor Jenkins Reid that I’ve read and it was just as good as the others. Reid has a way of writing characters that the reader can understand and sympathize with, so much so that even if they aren’t the nicest human being you root for them any way. Now I am very excited to read more by Reid and she will become a instant buy for any new books she writes.

I am taking a Geography course for school this semester and I thought it would be fun to pair the class with this book. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint.
Robert Macfarlane is a master storyteller, writing beautiful descriptions of the places he visits and includes backgrounds of the experts and guides who helped him on his journey. Not only is this book filled with science, but also details the rich culture and histories of the places he visited for this book. I really enjoyed this book, and the stories made everything even more interesting and were filled with humor and heart.

I got to read this again for one of my classes and it was amazing to return to Narnia and C.S. Lewis’ writing. I loved these books and movies as a kid and rereading this as an adult fills me with a lot of nostalgia. I think this book is by far my favorite out of all the Narnia books and it is an amazing and detailed story of Narnia’s origin.
