Dit oude prentenboek gevonden in de kast bij schoonouders. Het gezicht van mijn vriend werd een blije grijns, 'Die herken ik nog!' De illustraties kwamen hem bekend voor. Erg leuk om te zien.
En een erg leuk en schattig verhaal. Leuk om te zien hoe sommige prentenboekverhalen leuk blijven, ook zo veel jaar later nog en in vergelijking met de nieuwere prentenboeken die ik op werk wel eens lees!

Vrij standaard actiefilm-plot. Doet me ook wel een beetje denken aan bijvoorbeeld [b:Meedogenloos|33837724|Meedogenloos|Scott Bergstrom|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1484146586s/33837724.jpg|39814161]. Zo een plot pak ik tegenwoordig niet zo snel meer op in boekvorm, maar op tv vind ik het nog wel lekker consumeren.
Vandaar dat de graphic novel me wel aansprak, een beetje visueler, minder tekst, snel uit, zoals je een film kijkt. Dat was met dit plot ook wel fijn. Alleen de eerste twee van de serie zijn als graphic novel verschenen, dus ik twijfelde eerst of ik het wel op wilde pakken, ik kan ten slotte niet de serie uitlezen in dit format. Maar is dat erg? Ik wilde het toch gewoon proberen.
Het was leuk om te lezen, het las echt als het kijken van een actiefilm. Zal de tweede ook nog wel oppakken want leest lekker vlot, en wel lekker even de gedachten verzetten. Er zit ook een leuk gevoel voor humor in.
Wat ik wel jammer vind, is de slechte vertaling. Het Engelse Well, *zin, is in het Nederlands toch echt Nou, *zin en niet Wel, *zin.. Dat soort dingetjes.
Maar al met al: vermakelijk en leuk zo uit de bieb, dus.

I absolutely freaking loved this! I loved the first book, [b:The Witch's Kiss|29984535|The Witch's Kiss (The Witch's Kiss, #1)|Katharine Corr|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1461438941s/29984535.jpg|50384983], and I'm so glad the writers kept on doing their amazing job, no second book syndrome here!
The main character is just as kick-ass as in book 1, there is A LOT of girlpower in this book. But at the same time,it is very easy to relate to Merry because she does little stuff like tapping her leg with her phone while thinking about what to type in a text. And her whole attitude towards, well everything, is quite similar to what I think I'd feel in such a situation.
Oh, and there is a lot of action and cool stuff going on and GOSH I just love this series!
The writers are two amazing ladies as well, really sweet, and I highly recommend you to follow them on social media. They were also so lovely to send me a SIGNED COPY of this book, which surprised me a lot when it came in the mail ^^
I cannot wait for the third book, but Katherine told me it wouldn't be out until March 2018, so i have to be patient.. In the meantime, I can try to convince you all to read this series ;)

* Contemporary van Nederlandse bodem. Dingetjes uit onze cultuur, én te lezen voor school dus!
* Een onderwerp dat maatschappelijk belangrijk is maar helaas voor veel kinderen herkenbaar: gescheiden ouders. Het boek diept het onderwerp op een goede manier uit. Maakt het voor mij ook inzichtelijker hoe het voor kinderen met gescheiden ouders is. En dat is goed en knap.
* Het boek is gewoon goed en fijn geschreven. Het plot is goed, en allerlei details kloppen. Dat is gewoon erg goed, leuk en fijn lezen.
* Er zit een boekenclubje in dit boek. En ze lezen toffe boeken! Extra hartjes!
Al met al ben ik erg fan van dit boek. Goede keus BlossomBooks om deze uit te gaan geven. Het os tof en geweldig!

Unexpected and unpopular bookopinion below XD
I had very low expectations of this script, because I heard so many people expecting to love it but ended up not loving it as much.
I reread the entire Harry Potter series last year with my friend Rowie, which has been an amazing experience. I'd only read the books when they came out, so rereading was a big party of familiar people and unexpected things to happen, because I forgot about so many details.
It was also a wake-up call, about how we can romanticize books in our head. Yes, they are really good and fun to read, yes I gave them all 5*, but they are not perfect. And I did not liked Harry that much. And I noticed there are very very few descriptions of Hogwarts after the first book. And so on, I have more things that I could comment on in those books, now that I'd reread them with a fresh pair of eyes.
I read this book because I thought why not, it will be a fun way to end the reread with my friend, and I wanted to have my own opinion of this book.
And I'm so glad I did.
I love this.
It gave me all the right feels, all the same feels as the book. I didn't wanted it to end, but because you read it so fast because of the script format, it ended SO SOON. I was sad about that.
I got used to the script format really fast. I did not miss the descriptions, because of 3 reasons.
1) I noticed in the books that there are not many descriptions of places, so yeah.
2) There were little descriptions of the stage.
3) It took place in familiar places like the train and on Hogwarts, which I can perfectly imagine when you tell me it takes place there.
I LOVED the characters. I loved how everyone turned out. I love how much Albus resembles his father. I would not have said this if I hadn't recently read the 7 original books, in which I found Harry obnoxious and a lot of other not-positive things :)
I also love the time travel in this. It does not all takes place 19 years later, and I love how we revisit some of the big stuff in flashbacks as well. I also like the story line and the butterfly effect, and how some things became more clearly because of this. I felt closure at the ending and I like that.
Yes, there is a lot not perfect with this. But that is also the case with the original 7 books. For me, this was a very pleasant surprise and I highly enjoyed this. This can be different for you, of course. I highly recommend to read this after you've recently (re)read the entire series, so that you don't have a romanticized idea of those books in your head.
And please don't judge or shoot me and just let me sit in a corner and love this, ok? Thanks.

A good reminder to every day life in normal times at the bookshop. The funny and weird things, but also the jolly ones. Highly enjoyed reading this.

Dit boek vind ik nog mooier dan het vorige dat ik hiervan las/bekeek/bewonderde, terwijl dat van de tweede film is haha!
Maar het zijn allebei prachtig mooie boeken. Een heel mooi inkijkje in wat er bij komt kijken om een dergelijke film te maken. Heel leuk om al die verschillende ideeën te zien voor de beesten.
Ik ga hier de film nog meer van waarderen!
