I wish I could go back to 2012 and experience this book for the first time again. 
My initial response to Katniss's character years ago was to think she was selfish. And she is. But I think that's part of the POINT. how could she not be? How could she go through poverty and starvation and having to become the main caregiver for her sister and then be thrust into a situation where everyone is pitted against her and NOT have an attitude of self-preservation? 
the things Katniss has to do and become because of the capitol, because of a tyrannical government, it's frustrating and stressful, which is  of course, the point. 

I don't think there is a single character I've ever read as compelling as Murderbot. Its the most relatable character. The plot is great, but I wouldn't be as into it if it wasn't for the characters.
