3.5/5 stars. Not sure if I’m going to edit this rating a bit later.

I want to give this 4 stars but this had a horrible ending. I understand “open” endings.. but this was just not done well at all. It felt like the author hit a page limit and had to immediately end the story where it was. I thought we’d at least get an epilogue or something after that end, but there was nothing.

Other than that, the story was fun. It gave me classic Scream vibes so if you’re a fan of the original Screams, you should like this. But this was definitely more juvenile than Scream. Scream felt more like college students and this book read more like traditional high schoolers. That wasn’t a problem for me at all though. Scream was a classic that I absolutely loved so I’m very glad that this story gave me the same kind of experience.

3.5

This was good but I wasn’t too intrigued by the actual story. Loved the characters though!

Bummed out about this one because I was excited to read this book.

This started off strong but it ultimately had way too much going on which made it feel fragmented and disjointed. The middle part of this book felt slow and the ending left me feeling a bit unsatisfied. This felt like there was so much going on that it was hard to really grasp the overall story and suspense. For such a quick book, it would’ve been more beneficial to me if the author just narrowed things down a bit. I also had some trouble with how these characters were written.

There are certain books where you read them and can tell that a man wrote it, and honestly, this was one of them. I didn’t care for some of the comments made against women and the way that the transgender character was written also bothered me.

This book just hit the mark for me. I didn’t hate it but I also didn’t particularly enjoy it, landing me at a 2/5 star rating.

Thank you to NetGalley and Rising Action Publishing for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Didn’t hate this but also didn’t love it. There were a lot of aspects of this book that reminded me of Twilight. Which makes sense because Twilight was, in fact, mentioned in this story.

This was fun to read and felt really engaging to me.

It's not often that any of the books I read have illustrations in them so this immediately stood out. I loved seeing the progression of the illustrations throughout the investigation. This book also kept me guessing for the majority of the story. It was a really quick read, but one of my more enjoyable reads from recently.

There were a handful of times where I felt myself getting confused but it would soon get explained. Ultimately, I really enjoyed this mystery.

3.75/5 stars.

This was a good YA horror. A nice change of pace from my usual adult horror.

Enjoyable characters and plot line.
