I’m deep into my cozy reading and there’s not a series more perfect for fall vibes than this one. Being back in Landmark Mountain with the Landmark family is pure perfection and I was so excited to get a chance to read Wyatt’s story. We got a glimpse of Marlow and her adorable daughter, Dakota in the last book and I so enjoyed getting to know them more. It’s no secret that I’m a goner for a single dad in a romance but I have such a soft spot for a single mother too and Marlow was so fierce in her love for her daughter, their relationship was seriously the cutest. Wyatt falls first and good lord when this man falls for someone he falls hard. So swoony and when he called Marlow and Kota his girls I melted into a giant, teary puddle. Every time I finish one of these books I’m more in love with the town, the characters, the family and the charm. A must read for small town romance fans!

I have to start by saying that I think that having the right expectations are super important before you read this book. Yes, it’s a thriller but it’s also part dark love story at its core and the mystery itself is somewhat quieter with a sinister edge than a true fast paced and exciting thriller. I also think this will be a polarizing read for most, you’ll either really like the unique way the story unfolds or you’re hate it and I fell on the side of really liking it. There are quite a few triggers but there are content warnings at the beginning of the book and if you like The Last Housewife this one wasn’t quite as dark. It explores religion, small town small mindedness, child abuse and sexual abuse alongside this dark and unsettling mystery that is very haunting. I don’t want to really dive into the plot but if you like really different thrillers with a strong atmosphere and a truly WTF ending this was great.

This was such an amazing start to a new series, if you like swoony small town stories with a Southern twist this was sooo good. Lu and Riley fell hard and fast for each other one summer when they were teenagers until summer came to an end and Riley dumped Lu without warning. Fast forward ten years and she’s back in town for her friend’s wedding and Riley is the best man. So a great set up with second chance, a little bit of enemies to lovers and of course some small town charm. The setting was so beautiful and well described and I loved the inclusion of so much delicious sounding food making every about Bald Head Island just feel so idyllic. Lu was a fantastic heroine but Riley was the ultimate book boyfriend, he’s patient and super sweet yet determined to win Lu back and goes out of his way to make her feel comfortable and safe. Their connection is undeniable and their chemistry was insanely hot, this was one sexy read. Adored it and I’m gonna need book two asap after that final chapter

This one started a little bit slow for me but once it picked up I was all in. You get two viewpoints, Madison and Kathryn and i enjoyed both characters. There are quiet a few side characters as well and it was complex but once I figured out who was who and what their purpose in the story was I understood the need for so many different threads and angles. Some aspects of the fairly complicated plot seemed obvious but I didn’t have everything totally figured out. The suspense factor was high throughout the story and the tension only ramped up in the end, exactly what I like in a thriller. Overall a fun cat and mouse type of thriller that kept me engaged.
