Such a cute holiday read! If you like some steam in your festive romances this may be for you. Also try this if you like:
❄️Grump and sunshine
❄️Forced proximity
❄️Second chance
❄️Opposites attract
Seasonally I know my timing is off with this one but remember it for next summer because this is a great beach read. It has the perfect summery setting of Cape Cod, a side of family drama, which honestly makes the best beach reads, and really well written characters. There’s two timelines, 2002 and 2019 and the earlier one was nostalgic for me in some ways. I loved the importance placed on familial relationships, particularly those between the women in this family, it was really special and touching. It had a little something for everyone too, the aforementioned drama, romance, love, loss and second chances making it appealing to many readers. I really enjoyed this one, very emotional and heartfelt but uplifting in the end.
Lynn Painter can do no wrong in my opinion, her books are always guaranteed five star reads for me so of course this one was too. If you want a read that is bound to make you giggle and feel all warm and squishy this is it. I love that Bailey and Charlie had an awful first meeting, it was SO entertaining and had me hooked immediately. They had fantastic banter and the author always has the type of humor and wit I like, so that was 🤌🏻💋 too. It wasn’t all happiness and light, both of them are dealing with divorced parents and all the complications that brings to their lives and I adored how they were a support system for each other so much. Absolutely adorable and another perfect YA rom com from the author
I just adore the authors books, every time I finish one I’m wholly satisfied and this was no exception. Among the Heather is the second book in her Highlands series and follows Aria and North who we first meet in book one. This has a celebrity romance, he falls first, forced proximity and enemies to lovers which was a delicious combination. Even though the author always does suspense so well in her romantic suspense books I felt like this time things were even more tense than usual. The entire time there was a sense of uneasiness that unsettled me and pair that with some steamy romance and I’m all in. I listened to most of this and North with his accent was music to my ears. He was such a fantastic hero but listening to his voice just brought things to a whole new level. Aria kind of broke my heart with her insecurities and self doubt but seeing North help her build herself back up was so sweet. I adored these two together and felt like they complicated each other so well. The Scottish setting was beautifully described as always and checking in with past characters was so fun. If you like romantic suspense and you haven’t tried Sam’s books yet you must, SO good!
I know for some of you it’s too early to start reading holiday romances but I’m deep in my festive era so getting to read this early was such a treat. Maren calls this Hallmark after dark and that is such a perfect description because you get all the adorable and sweet feels but things get really spicy too. This would be the perfect book to get you into a holiday mood, so cozy, sexy and fun and it’s a novella so it’s a super quick read⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
