I swear no one writes a more gripping prologue than the author, she sucks you in immediately and before you know it you’ve been lost in the world she created for hours and your family wants dinner 😂 Seriously though, I’m not sure what she puts in her books but they are SO damn addictive. Thea is in such a fragile place at the start and she is so guarded and cautious and the patience and care Shep shows her was beyond sweet. He is such a lovable golden retriever and when he becomes determined to protect Thea and help her realize her worth I about swooned out of my chair. Their entire relationship was built on a mutual respect and trust and everything about it was so tender and precious. Their slow burn made so much sense here and just made the moments where they finally gave into their attraction that much sweeter (and hotter) I feel like the suspense in this series so far has been next level, the tension was so high and I didn’t trust anyone yet I was still shocked by how everything played out. Love, love loved obviously, and cannot even wait for book 3

This had such a creepy premise, seeing a video online of your house is just crazy so I loved that aspect. It lost me a little with too many side plots and maybe a few too many suspects and then things were far fetched in the end. Jessica Regan was fantastic and definitely kept me listening even when things were a little sketchy.

If you’ve been reading this series and impatiently waiting for Nash and Beefcake’s story I have to tell you it was well worth the wait, I loved it so much! The author writes some of my favorite small town romances and the found family she has created in this book is truly special. Nash is such an amazing single father and his relationship with his son is adorable and just when I thought it couldn’t get any cuter it did when Emerson and Cutler started to bond. Of course the romance was swoony and romantic Nash and Emerson meant to be. I can’t believe we only have one more book in this series before it’s complete but after seeing the little hints for the next series I’m SO excited about that one too!

3.75/5

This is a dual timeline mystery, you hear from June in the present day who’s first husband Josh disappeared and from Bev, (Josh’s mother) in the past. It has a slow start and definitely took me some time to become interested but I did get there by about the halfway point. I would say that the suspense is on the lighter side, more general fiction with mystery elements and lacking some heightened tension that I would’ve appreciated. The last quarter of the book gets crazy, so many twists and reveals, truly wild stuff that you usually see on the Lifetime channel. It was almost a little too over the top for me, but in the end I did enjoy this one.

I’m a fan of the authors books and always appreciate the fresh and unique ideas she comes up with. Harper and Ben are newlyweds when he gets diagnosed with terminal cancer so lots of trigger warning from the start. Ben wants Harper to start finding a new partner before he dies so he knows that she will be happy upon his death. So some heavy stuff, not gonna lie it took me a little bit to get settled in because it was so sad but I did end up getting really invested in the story. There is some magical realism that brought some whimsy and light to the tragic story. At its core this is a highly emotional read that explores deep love and deep loss but in the end there is still hope. So many parts of this were beautiful and heartwarming but also heartbreaking, this gives you a lot to think about and would make for a great book club discussion.

This author is known for writing insanely tense thrillers and this was no exception. It’s the definition of ordinary people being put in extraordinary circumstances (and danger) and the ensemble cast of characters were all incredible. The audio production was amazing and Joe Morton brought the intensity to his narration.

This author is quickly becoming one of my faves when I want a fast paced, sexy, smutty little read. Her books are HOT but there’s also a ton of substance and plot too which is exactly the kind of balance I like. I loved that this followed Marissa & Chris over the course of several years because their relationship was complicated and messy and their road to a HEA was not easy by any means. If you like forbidden, age gap, second chance, workplace and some serious spice try this it was really good!!
