I honestly have no words. Riley Sagar has changed the game of mystery/thrillers. Not a single one of my predictions were revealed. I was taken by COMPLETE surprise at every twist, which I can’t say for most thrillers I’ve read. Unreal. This book was incredible.
Even though this story wasn't extremely horrific, it was even more terrifying because of the small things. The idea that this little town was enclosed in miles of corn, excluded from the world. And the fact that it was completely empty, no people to be found, only children. While I was reading I felt very uneasy and almost as if I was the one being watched.
3.5 stars!!! Overall I enjoyed this collection a lot, it’s the first I’ve read from him so I’m excited to read his others! The majority of the stories weren’t the greatest in my opinion but the few that were 5 stars made it worth it!
My 5 star stories:
I Am The Doorway
The Boogeyman
Sometimes They Come Back
Quitters Inc.
Children of the Corn
If you choose to read any of the stories in this collection, I highly recommend the ones I’ve listed above!

I had the pleasure of receiving this book as an arc through Netgalley.
I have read books by Megan Miranda before but this one has to be my favorite. At first, I didn't see myself rating this book too high. As I continued reading though, I grew to like it even more. There were twists that I seriously did not see coming and I was pleasantly surprised by the ending. This read was very fast paced and I loved how small things that didn't make sense to me in the beginning came full circle and were explained by the end. Miranda really did a great job with this one!
