I really think this book is beautifully written or could I say beautifully translated? Either way, it made me want to learn French so bad because I have always wanted to read French literature for it is so beautiful, and it would be awesome to discover a new culture. The story is a bit complicated at first, I felt it was so fragmented I couldn't relate any flashback to the characters. I'm not sure how Irena and Josef knew each other and the ending did not help. I think the ending would be better if it work on clearing things up rather than steaming up things up with sexual scenes. It's still a pleasant read, the words are so delicate and smooth. It's definitely a gateway book. It's my first French book, I can't wait to read it in French!

John Green was already one of my favorite authors before reading his books, I have heard so much good things about him and his books. Now, that I have read one of his books, I can say I have a solid reason for liking him. John Green successfully created this place of Culver Creek where you feel so familiar with the characters, I don't know whether it was the simplicity of his writing or of his story, either way, he was brilliant. To be honest, the book was a bit slow in the "Before" part but nevertheless, entertaining. I liked the "After" part more where they started to unravel the mystery of Alaska and made me think about my own life. The characters were endearing, especially Pudge, I loved his friendship with the Colonel. I can't say that I liked Alaska that much, there was a bit of exaggeration in his characters and she confuses me. I loved everything in this boarding school, I enjoyed the Old Man classes and I kinda have this image of the Eagle in my head. A new world, new people have sprung to life in my head and I think they will stay there as long as I lived.

This the second book I read by Palahniuk; I can see why this guy is popular! His style is kind of aggressive, if I could say so, he is not so mainstream and gosh how much he hates television! I will read more of his books in the future and I'm sure I will find the same concept in each books he wrote; angsty, revolution and disturbing images! I must say that I had a different idea of this book before reading but either way, I'm not disappointed in it. If there was a hint of disappointment, it's just because that I had to stop reading it for a long while :( The book so entertaining, and I personally believe it's better than Lullaby. The sotry of a beautiful model losing her beauty and trying to live her life afterward is so gripping, and the end of book is so shocking you want to shake the book and scream WHY? WHYYYY?! I loved how the sotry peels itself pages after pages until you can see the whole shocking truth. The books is consisted of several flashbacks, disturbing humor and of course, qoutes that will make you think!

It's always a pleasure to read for Faulkner, he's one of my personal favorite. His famous style of writing, "Stream of Consciousness" is one of the reason why I love reading his books, it's so challenging and it's like an exersice for the brain! The story is about a country family that is planning to bury their dead mother in Jefferson for she was always longing to go there. The book starts from the mother being sick on bed and takes us to the journey to Jefferson. The family is so of dysfunctional and it has different individuals, the book reminds of The Sound and the Fury in this point. But if I have to compare, I would say that As I Lay Dying is easier to read although the two books are similar in the writing technique and the narration type. The books is definitely worth the time, it has dark humor, entertaining story line and thought-provoking images. It is about family bonds; you'd feel sad on some members and pissed at others.

It really was a refreshing book, it has been a while since last time a book made me forget how tired I am after work and made me stay on bed not blinking a once, not even yawning! I will try to tell you what's the story about without spoiling anything on you.. So, the story is about a girl who is from a Danish white mother and an American black father. She comes to live with her grandmother as she was the only survivor from a tragic accident happened to her and her family. She is not white, not black, she half and half, and she has a really beautiful blue eyes!
This book is a really page turner, the story is captivating, and the characters are all lovable. I gave this book four stars because I was disappointed with the ending, it was not much of closure. The book has two parts, the first part was entertaining, I loved reading the story and I enjoyed her style of writing; it was so simple yet so genuine. The second part felt like it was racing to some sort of a conclusion I was actually flipping the pages eager to know what's next.. and then I was shocked of how the last page delivered; not a satisfying conclusion.
I don't even remember it and I just finished it today! Maybe the reason is that the book is based on a real story so she didn't know who to really end the book? I kinda wanted for Rachel, the main character, to have more time thinking and lamenting over her family, I liked it when she was in that situation rebelling on her grandmother. I wanted to know what happened to the father, he was there in the beginning of the book, then, he just disappeared with no explanation! The book ended with so many things left untold but it's great either way. It's a good read and it was really REFRESHING to me.

I have been waiting to read this book from a long time, and you can imagine how excited I was when I finally got my hands on it! With all this excitement and anticipation, I was afraid to be disappointed. Fortunately, my excitement over this book was totally worth it, I would finish way earlier if I wasn't so busy with work and my trip preparation. I finish most of the book in one go and that only means that the book is a page-turner! The story happens in the future cruel world of Panem, a country that makes an annual game that called The Hunger Games. A reality TV show on boys and girls fighting each other to death and the victory for who survives at the end! The main character, Katniss, is a part of this game along with Peeta, a boy from her town. The book is a mixture of Sci-fi and romance.. I guess that's what we call it these days Young Adult Fiction! I'm not complaining, I love this type of books, anyway! I enjoyed the book in general but I still have few things that were not so convincing to me. I'm afraid to spoil the book if I went through details, but I'll try to explain this vaguely. I had the feeling that the author was just making up stuff to make the two characters together, I'm not convinced with the sudden change of circumstances that happens to be on their side! Either way, I'm still eager to read the rest of the series!

Well, that was a thrill read! It's obviously the second book of the series where Katniss and Peeta keep on living their lives after the Games are finished, but their lives were never the same! It started really slow at the beginning but the ending was amazing! There was an expected turn of events, I didn't see it coming at all! I still can't quite digest Peeta's character, I don't see much of him in the book. Most of the events is Katniss is saving Peeta, Katniss is worried about Peeta, Peeta is so good he can't tell the wrong from right.. Is Peeta have a character of his own?? I don't think so, it's just an extra element to support the "Romance" in the book. I'm disappointed that there isn't much of Gale, thou. I think his character is stronger and well-rounded than Peeta's. I wished if they called Gale for the Quarter Quell, that will be more interesting!
