I genuinely do not understand some of these low ratings. The plot is intriguing and intricate.... there are multiple POV that add to the plot and story line it was good. I'll def read the next one.
I loved this. I didn't know any folk tales from this region so it was nice to read them for the first time. I think the 3 way love story is nice too. It's complicated and felt real.
Took till about 50% for me to decide i wanted to finish it. I feel like maybe it was the historical aspect of it is what pulled me out.... any "southern" or "country " gives me the ick but I enjoyed the book.
