An interesting side to consider, one that you don't usually see. But I wouldn't have opened with Patty's POV, and I'm not sure the victim's POV was necessary. Also, the reveal was pretty sudden and it undermined Patty's decision
Spoilerto let it go unresolved
in the end.

Nice split-second twist with the climax/reveal. I loved the snippets about sewing, added creative details and character relatability. Her gift might not have been really unique, but I liked that
Spoilerit related to her hobby
.

Okay, Francis was a bit pretentious. But Mel's prejudice was childish, and she was really inexcusably rude. Sure, it's a nice change from Twilight-type vampire romance plots, but the actual story itself could be improved.

I feel like Bastien is the more interesting character, between the two siblings. Laila's kind of a typical naive privileged kid, though I did sympathize with her. Amir vs. Ian, though? Give me a break.

I'm Team Cam purely because Daniel's annoyingly too perfect, too boring. The mythology's being stretched pretty thin, perhaps too much so, and there are too many "main"/key characters to keep track of to the extent I'd like.

Of all the things to modify with lace ... It didn't quite fully utilize the craftsy/design element I was hoping for, overemphasizing the self-image/romantic issues and small-town setting instead - not inherently bad, but not what I thought it was gonna focus on.

Still trying to figure out exactly where Jagger fits into all this (besides being one of the main five). I identified some with Vanessa's good-student reputation and drive, but I can't imagine

3.5 stars maybe?

An interesting idea, though I thought it was really obvious that
SpoilerJamie was totally being manipulated
. Not sure what kind of message his actions really send -
Spoilerarson, larceny, and all the rest
- even though I can understand why he so badly wants to be straight, considering societal pressures and judgment.

The idea of residual memories/habits is touching, sure, but also reaaaaaaally creepy; it's even creepier that it really happens. Both girls' stories and personalities were well-developed - the plot, no so much.
