(Required reading in 5th grade.) Mostly my memories are of laughing with friends over the various creative ways our teachers came up with to get around reading the curse words out loud, followed by some US History educational stuff that didn't really stick. But the moral dilemmas and overall plot weren't too bad, as far as I recall.
