A must read for Norwegians. A terrifying look behind the curtain of Norway's clean and well-honed reputation. There are certain things I definitely knew about from school, but I was surprised and disgusted reading about the extent of the Norwegian government's active participation in so many heinous crimes. It's good to know your country's history, for better or for worse. And this is definitely for the worse. I deducted some from the rating because there were parts of the book that just became unreadable due to the amount of cited source material, I understand that is the appropriate format for such texts, but it completely takes you out of the actual content

One of the best contemporary romances I've read in a long time. Exactly what I want: characters who communicate with each other and the writing really shows how they're compatible, and just enough low-stake drama related to secondary characters to keep the excitement up.

Of all the Bridgerton books, this is my favorite so far (which isn't saying a lot) . Colin has so far been the only one that doesn't resolve to extreme anger and violence at every little inconvenience, I really felt Penelope and him were equal in their relationship, and communicated well together. Colin was insightful enough to acknowledge his own flaws and wasn't just horny 99% of the time 😂

I am however disappointed we were cheated out of the mirror scene that was mentioned.

I'm in love with the members of the Thursday Murder Club. Richard Osman has nailed the tone of the cozy mystery and I really like that you can recognise him in the tone of the book. Wish I had saved this to read during winter, but oh well.

Unfortunately the ending got spoiled for me, so that's why I couldn't give it the full five stars, but it's absolutely worth the read!

I've read quite a few of these kinds of books on Greek myths where a selected few heroes/gods/myths are presented, and the author writes about their different depictions in depth. This is the best one I've read so far. This is Haynes' field and you can tell she's brimming with information that she wants to share. The book is so engaging and I highly recommend it
