I'm just glad that I waited so long to read this book because I definitely enjoyed this much more than if I read it years ago. It's poetic, it's beautiful, it's hard. Vuong really writes with so much care.

 While this was definitely a deeper look into the asexual identity and I loved that the concept of split attraction was so nicely explained, I wished Chapters 5 and 6 were longer and talked more about aromanticism and agenderness. Especially the last chapter felt a bit too short and shallow. Still, I really enjoyed this book and definitely rec it for anyone who would like to read more about the As and how colonialism plays role in the way Western society views sexualities, attraction, romance and gender. 

It was alright, but I feel like there was so much more potential that would elevate the story into a fantastic read. It fetl a bit rushed and maybe a bit confusing in the terms of time period and time itself.
I liked the small references to lesbianism in the story a lot, it was fun to catch them in the text. 

Even though it took me ages to read this book, I enjoyed it! The characters were nice and I liked the mystery, excited to read the next book in the series.

I listened to this as an audiobook and I really enjoyed the narration! All the characters were nicely distinct, their voices clear and easy to listen to. For the story itself, I liked the case and while the plot wasn't overly complicated, it was interesting for a book of this lenght. The characters were probably the most interesting aspect, I liked Chapman the most I think, but I must mention how sweet was to see Khlid and Sam's relationship among all the gore.

I feel a bit conflicted about this book. At one hand, I really liked the worldbuilding, like a lot. Werewolves are one of the supernatural creatures I prefer, and the way they were conceptualized, especially the packs and lone wolves, by Starling was new and refreshing. I also enjoyed the mystery surrounding the drug and how addiction was one of the central themes of this story. 
On the other hand, I unfortunately didn't really care about the main characters and especially Cedric. I don't know what exactly it was, but he just was a bit bland to me and the only thing about him I liked was the lycan lore. Renzo's story was definitely the more interesting one, it still didn't make me as invested as I would like, and thus I didn't enjoy the whole book as a whole.
It's was still fine. The writing was good and the plot flowed nicely. I liked how it build the stakes for the next book in the duology.

This was such a fun tale, loved how the alien cockroaches talked and how their whole 'invasion' turned out.

Really enjoyed the intricacies and politics in this one! Touraine was such an interesting MC and her decisions, as frustrating they could be at times, really showed her love for the other Sands and her bonds to other characters as well.

This was a nice story! I really liked Zin and the different princesses.
