Moidah with moihmaids. Epic bit of floating sci-fi aquatic monster horror - the tight spaces of a sea ship and the tight spaces of a space-ship are similarly creepy and claustropihobic when stalked by hungry things. Brilliant.

I lucked into consuming this in what is probably the best possible way - on audio at an accelerated speed so the whole thing flows like a fluent motormouth slacker monologue as the guys careen from one grotesque situation to the next. Uses the 'r' word way too much - one is too many - uses the 'n' word a few times but that actually works as part of one of the twists, but all the black characters die gruesomely, which is a bit naff.

Curious tale of someone coming from the other side of Lovecraft-land into ours to retrieve a lost student. Intelligent and affecting.

Spooky slashy horror murder psychological small-town meta thriller that keeps the reader wrong-footed in terms of what's happening and where it's going. Smashing ending, too.

Absolutely stonking hammer-blow of a short aquatic horror novella. Seriously brilliant piece of work that pulls off the impressive trick of Making Mermaids Scary by turning them into a cross between Jurassic Park raptors and Jaws. Excellent and savage.

The Murderbot makes a friend, goes back to the place where they became Murderbot, gets another job and explores their new-found freedom and autonomy a bit more while protecting foolish humans.
