What a fantastic sequel to Five Broken Blades! I thought parts of it lacked some action where I expected some and it definitely felt like this one had less action than the first one to me. Maybe that’s why I’m only giving it 4.5 stars but it felt like there was a small something missing to me. But there were parts of the story I didn’t see coming at all that I absolutely loved and the last 50 pages or so were flipping amazing!!
I can’t wait to get my hands on book 3 and see how this all ends!

I know a lot came out about Scientology after she left the church but I tend to stay away from that kind of stuff normally. So I didn’t know a lot of the things she talked about in her book.
Every time I hear about a group like Scientology I am shocked by how many intelligent people are sucked into their grips. But then you listen to the things these people are told and a part of me can understand why they cling to it. Especially someone like Remini who was indoctrinated at such a young age.
It warms my heart hearing all the people who stood behind her after she left.
Also I just need to mention what a piece of sh*t Tom Cruise is after all this. I always knew he was nutty but I didn’t realize how horrible of a person he was until listening to this.

I was originally going to give this one 4 stars. It was good but it didn’t wow me and I thought the way it was playing out was a bit obvious but then the ending …. Did not see it coming at all! Like it never even crossed my mind to suspect the person responsible for everything!
Love it when an author can throw in a good, believable twist!

This was so incredibly interesting to listen to…
I couldn’t help but really feel for Lenz by the end of the book, hearing everything she went to and how horribly she was treated. This is so important for people to read and hear about because it is so easy for us to be manipulated these days. You might think it will never happen to you but it can…

Why did I wait so long to read this?!?!!! I totally understand the hype surrounding this book now!
I was unsure of it at the start, it probably took me bout 50 pages to get really into the story and once I was invested I couldn’t put it down!
The magic system is so unique and so interesting and I absolutely loved it! The characters were great especially Ravyn and Elm! They were probably my favorites! Everything about it was just so good.
I cannot wait to read the next book and see how everything plays out!

Thank you to Atria and the author for sending me an advanced copy to review!

This book was nothing like I was expecting!
A year ago, Ash’s father was pushed in front of an incoming train. Now, her mother has a new boyfriend and something about him just doesn’t sit right with Ash so she starts to do some digging…
This book is a rollercoaster ride of gaslighting and lies and secrets. And the crazier part is, this probably happens more often than we realize. The MMC is a smooth talker who knows how to manipulate women into doing whatever he wants.
This definitely isn’t the type of thriller I’ve come to expect from Lisa Jewell but it was a change up that just worked.

I definitely recommend giving this one a read when it comes out in June!
