It is a Diviners duty to drown and read the signs of the Omens. When a new king comes to have his signs read, one Diviner in particular will get caught up in a tale she could not see coming.
I’m in a bit of a reading funk at the moment and I kinda wish I would have saved this one for when I got out of it. I just couldn’t get wrapped up in the story like I have been. While I thought the story was so interesting and was relatively unique, there was just something that kept me from getting totally swept up in the story as a whole. And the ending was a tad predictable to me …
I am very curious to see what happens in the second book because this very much could have wrapped up after the first book ended.

I can’t believe this is only part one of Cher’s memoir!
Just throughout this first installment she has been through so much in her life! Shes face hard times and had amazing times, she’s gone through the most iconic part of her career and by the end of part 1 she’s only in her 30s…
Her memories are so vivid and she’s so different than how I expected her to be!
I cannot wait to see what part 2 has in store for us!

I think I might have rated it 5 stars had I had more time to focus on it.
Sophie and Alexandra Avellino are both on trial for the murder of their father. Except only one of them did it. Eddie Flynn and Kate Brooks both think their clients are innocent, except one of them is a killer. But which sister is the murderer? And which attorney backed the right horse?
I really liked the method of storytelling for this one! Just when you thought you had it figured out because a clue was dropped something would pop up that would make you think the other way.
I will say I think I figured out who the killer was before the reveal but I really enjoyed how it all unfolded.
I’m definitely going to be going back and reading more of the books in this series! I loved that you didn’t need to read the earlier books to enjoy this one!

Britney’s story absolutely broke my heart….
Everything she had to go to and what she was put through by the people who were supposed to love and care about her is just so heartbreaking. I understand so much more now about why she did some of the things she did. She was failed by so many people in her life and it’s so sad to think about the even more incredible person she could have been without them.

I struggled with this one…
I wasn’t a fan of the way Molly was depicted. I thought she was very obviously neurodivergent but I didn’t like that it was never addressed. As a result I didn’t like the way the other characters were depicted around her. It made some of them, especially the detective, seem truly incompetent and quite idiotic in my opinion.
I definitely don’t get the hype. I would have enjoyed it more if she was described as a neurodivergent character who was going through all this and the people around her were aware. Maybe that’s just me though.
I don’t think I’m going to keep going with this series because I don’t think it’s for me.

I really enjoyed reading a story from Doli’s point of view! She was one of my favorite characters in the first book so it was nice to learn more about her. As a people pleaser I could relate to a lot of the things she was thinking and it just made me like her more!
I’m really excited for book 3 to come out to learn more about these characters! I can’t wait for a Jez book because she’s the character I relate to the most in the stories!

I’ve always enjoyed Gilmore Girls but never knew much about the cast before and definitely nothing about Kelly Bishop. I absolutely loved listening to her talk about her life! I learned so much about her and she seems like such an incredible woman!
I’ll definitely be looking into some of the other shows and movies she’s credited in now!

Freida is back to her twists and turns and secrets throughout!

Blake has the perfect life. He’s got a great job, a fiancé he’s crazy about, and the perfect brownstone to start his life in. Until everything starts to come crashing down around him and suddenly he has a new tenant renting the upstairs room who also might be trying to ruin his life.

I will admit a couple things I could see coming but the level of holy shit as I was reading those things unravel was wild! I ended up reading this in about a 36 hour time period (stupid work getting in the way) because I just could not put it down! Was it a little over the top? Probably. But I was entertained from start to finish!

Olivia has spent her whole adult life hiding the fact that she is the daughter of Vincent Taylor, famous horror author and suspected murderer. But with his health deteriorating and with one more story to tell, Vincent requests that Olivia ghostwrite his next book. With few prospects on the horizon Olivia feels she must accept and is swept up in the whirlwind story of what happened to her aunt and uncle 50 years ago on the night they were murdered.

Wow. Just wow.
This one was so good! I was swept up into the story from page one and could not put this down! I loved the way it was told, a jumble of broken memories and flashbacks to the past. Everything kept you guessing at what really happened as the story went on, allowing you to formulate theories and then unraveling them as you go. Some parts I started to guess at while other parts came as a total surprise.
This story was just so well told that I couldn’t help but get wrapped up in it pages!

This was definitely a fun read and I understand why so many people enjoy it!

Set mostly in the retirement community of Coopers Chase, Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim, and Ron investigate cold cases. They are known as the Thursday Murder Club. But when a local builder is murdered they’re intent on trying to solve the murder.

I loved main 6 characters in this one! They are spunky and smart and mysterious and they make the story truly entertaining. The story is told through multiple POVs and they’re are a lot of characters. Most of the chapters are told from the POV of the main 6 (the Thursday Murder Club and the two cops) but there are random chapters mixed in from other characters. It could be a tad confusing but I didn’t think it was that hard to follow along.

I didn’t guess who one of the murderers was in the book which is always exciting although I didn’t figure out their reason for it until it was revealed.

All in all a solid story and I liked it enough to keep reading the series!
