4.5 stars. Julia Quinn at her best.

Spoiler-free review! (Yes, some of the reviews of this are terrible - so many spoilers.)

A lot of hype, a *little* disappointing.

It was a good read, but I spotted some of the key spoilers way before they happened and it didn't have the psychological suspense or real thrill of some other books I've read lately.

It was good though - don't get me wrong. An enjoyable 4 star read. Just not as great as some of the hype makes out. Often the case eh?

Just read it. Really really good.

I really enjoyed this. It's a sweet, time-travelling romance with a lovely little twist or two in it. Certainly easy reading, but a step up from trashy nonsense. I've been meaning to try Susanna Kearsley for ages, and now I have she's fast becoming a favourite author.
